One thing we’re relearning about cruising is that you never know where you’ll have to lay ‘over. For right now it is Panama City while we wait for a marine electrician to work on our chart plotters and VHF. Strange things can happen on a boat ( aka sea gremlins) for no known reason. For example, the navigation track that Cap’t Rog puts in at the lower helm is not showing up at the upper helm. Also, we want the emergency signaling system on the VHF to work without fail. As it’s a natural spring, the water was quite cold, but refreshing, and the stones are unaltered under foot. You can feel all the algae and slime on the top of the rocks, as we all struggled to balance on them. Jess ends up jumping on my back and 'riding' me as she’s too scared of the nearby gators, even though they couldn’t get into ... read more
