After a two year delay due to Covid, our son Will and daughter in law Mercy's wedding day finally arrived. My blog from 2020 (see ) I described our road trip to California where Will and Mercy got their marriage certificate from the Orange County clerk on 5 Aug 2020. And now their wedding celebration was happening! My previous blog (see ) recounts family members arriving from all over the United States and assembling in Temecula in the Southern California wine country. Now our time in Temecula continues. 19 May 2022 Thursday. Today the main events were the rehearsal at 3 PM at the Ponte Winery followed by the rehearsal dinner. So, sisters Judy and Carol, husband Steve, and Linda and I had most of the day to tour around the vineyards for which Temecula is ... read more

The days during our travels seem to fly by which is no excuse for not keeping in touch with all of you more often. So I’m setting a goal of blogging every two weeks during the rest of our trip. And if I don’t you can hold me to it. We enjoyed our 12 days in Tuscon at Catalina State Park watching the sunset light up the lovely mountains and of course getting in several good hikes. We got to see nephew Gary and family one more time It was so fun sharing memories of times when Gary would stay with us as a young one. We enjoyed the sun reflecting on the mountains of Catalina State Park where we stayed. Some say “when the mountains turn pink it’s time to drink.” That’s fine for the ... read more

Just 2 days and 19 hours to go until trip #4. I can pack for the trip like a pro, but the real challenge is what kind of mindset I bring with me. I can be very up or down on these trips. My hope is that I maintain a mindset that is true to my real self, and not based around worries of other's expectations and judgements. Amsterdam is very much a place that I have come to know that I can be myself, and immerse myself in the city that I have come to embrace. Come Gezellig...let's make the magic happen!... read more

Well we finally began our trip to the Carolina's. I am a little behind in the blogging (more to follow about that) but better late than never. We started out on Friday to attend the wedding of Don's sister Phyllis' grandson Geoff's wedding in Temecula. Phyllis rode down in the Coach with us and we had a really nice visit. We stayed at an RV park just 2 miles from the wedding venue which made it very convenient. It was at an Indian Casino called Pechanga. The RV park was very nice and the spaces where very wide with nice grassy areas which Karlie appreciated very much. The weather was great and we really liked the downtown area of Temecula even though we didn't have any time to explore much since we were busy with the ... read more

The next three days were pretty uneventful. I worked all day, we had lunch, took a walk. The weather seems to have a pattern. It was overcast in the morning, cleared up with bright sunshine and blue skies by noon. In the afternoon the wind would really pick up and by dusk it would be calm again. On Wednesday night we went to Karl Strauss for dinner. it was so good. We sat outside on the heated patio. Ken had a delicious caesar salad that he ended up sharing with me-it was so good! I had a mixed green salad that was just ok. We shared a dinner: French cut pork chops (my fav), steamed green beans and broccoli. It also came with yummy mashed potatoes that I passed on. It is a micro brewery so ... read more

The day started early...5:30 am. I am working remotely this week and Atlanta is 3 hours ahead thanks to the hour change. Ken made lattes and oatmeal before he left for deep sea fishing. He and Larry are hoping to have better luck by going out on a boat. I had researched and found a place in Oceanside Harbor near where they were yesterday: Helgren's Sportfishing. Henna stopped over and asked if I wanted a salad for lunch...sure! I took a break and took a short walk around the park. It is another pretty day here in Southern California. Back to work. At noon I went over to her RV and we carried our lunch outside to enjoy the weather. I'm going to miss them. They are leaving to go back to Tucson tomorrow. After lunch ... read more

We got up at 7 am and had our lattes inside by the fireplace. Ken made oatmeal, Henna cooked hashbrowns and bangers on the grill. It warmed up enough to eat outside...another beautiful day. Afterwards it was time for showers. We then drove to Lake Skinner Park to check it out. They have a campground and we want to see how the fishing is in the lake. The park is really run down and the lake is not stocked. We asked some fishermen if they caught anything and they said no, not even a nibble. We then drove in to Temeculah Old Town. This is where the Rod Run is. Friday night was the actual 'Run' where they cruise up and down the street. Today the cars will be parked along the streets to walk by ... read more

We arrived in Temecula around 4 pm. We set up and created out outdoor area behind our RV. Larry and Henna are right next to us. We are staying at Pechanga RV Resort. It sits right next to some mountains and is a nice park. We enjoyed cheese, blackberries, adult beverages and the warm sunshine, but as soon as the sun began to set, the temperature dropped quickly. Ken brought out our heater and Henna sat right next to it. This is the same heater that Henna stood too close to and caught her pants on fire at our yard sale a few years ago! Larry and Ken decided to take a bike ride and Henna and I went inside to start dinner. We put the green beans and diced potatoes on and enjoyed talking and ... read more

We headed up the road a few hours to Temecula and stayed at the Pechanga RV Resort. What a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. We loved the quaint little old town area and the fabulous farmers market. One night we went to the casino for dinner, and were surprised to find out it is as big as the MGM in Las Vegas. The last weekend of our stay Will and Renee' came and we went to a couple of wineries and enjoyed more of the sunshine.... read more
