Nasze spanie nazywało sie Ye Old Danish Inn, właściciel Dun nastojaszczy z żoną Koreanką. Na ścianach kolekcja talerzyków Royal Copenhagen, zdjecia H.Ch.Andersena i czerwona flaga z krzyżem, a w kredensie biało-niebieska antyczna zastawa. Tylko w Ameryce!... read more

Another day in Eureka. We had no reservation at the KOA for 7/4 so we moved over to our new found friend Bea from Juneau, Alaska. She is a motorcycle rider, 75 years old and travels with her dog, Virginia. She had room by her RV and seemed like a great thing to do. However it is now 6 pm and no one is in our old site. Bea lead the Juno parade for years and was the guest leader for Ferndale's. We went to Ferndale, a quaint Victorian village about 20 miles down the road for the annual 4thof July parade. Proved to be a neat event, lots of friendly people and even a few local BMW bikers. If you are ever in Ferndale, the fairgrounds have water and power and no charge for camping ... read more

Highway 36 ,Highway 101 and Ferndale I was planning on going up to this little town called Ferndale for awhile and finally did it yesterday. Got a late start. The plan was to go take the I-5 slab to Red Bluff, then take my favorite road, Highway 36 to Eureka. Then drop down from there to Ferndale. One nice thing about having a bike is you can explore a lot of different places when the mood its. The 1-5 is a slab. Boring as all get out. Now highway 36 is a different story. A lot of you already know about the 140 miles of curves. You really can not take your eyes off of it for a minute. The surrounding area is really quite beautiful but keep your eyes glued to the road for the occasional ... read more

Pattie and Ron's Vacation 2010 – Part 3 Eureka to Fort Bragg Day 3 of our vacation dawned surprisingly fair, surprisingly, not too much fog in Eureka. However, down the road is another story. My son and I were going to drive down the famously picturesque US 1 until we reached Ferndale. The Victorian-themed town, going by the name of Cedar Creek, was the site of a movie about a plague carried by a pet monkey. A box office success, Outbreak starring Dustin Hoffman, debuted in 1995. It is an interesting town to visit. Up early, we ate a quick breakfast at the restaurant next door. A quick pack, a last look around the room, and we were off by 8:30AM. We left town on Main Street. It turns into US 1 about a mile outside ... read more
