Ok, so I have decided on a new mission. Partly because of something Casey said to us, I've decided that I am going to put together a series of photos and writings to make you all so jealous of Alaska that you will HAVE to come up here! :) It really is absolutely beautiful here. I'm having a much better day by the way. I guess it's just hard adjusting to not knowing anything or anyone up here. I saw a ton of people my age hanging around downtown today, though, so that was encouraging. David is going to the chiropractor after work today, so hopefully that will make him feel a lot better. Ok, so in the process of getting Anna a job, I have acquired two. I will be working fulltime at a warehouse in "the slopes" as they call it and working part time at Home Depot. Tomorrow I have to go take two drug tests, get letters from both of my jobs stating my salary, turn it in to the apartment manager, go to Wells Fargo and accept a wire transfer for the money from the car, take that money back to the apartment and put a down payment on it and sleep! Then enjoy my last weekend off work. As soon as Anna can get a steady job I will quit the Home Depot because I will go crazy if I work 80 hours a week for more than a month. We found our new favorite internet cafe:) They have really good coffee too! Its called the Kaladi Brothers. Plus Anna and I agree there's a really cute girl that works here. loll. It really sucks that our hotels wireless is down because we cant watch anything but hotel supplied cable... which shows the same movie every hour. I got another interview for tomorrow though. That gives me two interviews and Anna 1...... We did go look at the building she might work in. Its pretty impressive, it's a high-rise all glass windows. We went to a restaurant called Humpy's last night. It was decent. We also went to their mall here and it was massive. Five stories tall. We couldn't walk it all it was so big. OK. No go on a job yet. Still waiting for the hiring manager to get in contact with me. We are once again going apartment looking today. Yesterday sucked, every apartment we looked at was crappy and nasty and they all wanted around 850.00 for a 1 bedroom with all outdated appliances and roaches included!!! If we dont have good luck today its a good possibility we will cut our losses and try somewhere else.... read more
