Et voilà, c’est reparti! 3e chapitre! La traverse Matane-Baie-Comeau fut ma foi fort agréable. Comme depuis le début de notre voyage, il faisait un temps superbe. J’ai même réussi à me faire griller sur le pont pendant un bon 2-3 minutes avant que Romy et Delphine décident de jouer à me grimper dessus pour faire bateau sur l’eau sur un bateau sur l’eau (#miseenabyme). En sortant du traversier, on doit aller acheter notre souper puisque notre hôte nous a avertis qu’il n’y avait rien de rien près de notre logement qui est à pointe-aux-outardes. Pas de resto, pas d’épicerie. Et nos options pour se faire à manger sont limités. On est dans un demi sous-sol avec une moitié de cuisine. Mini frigo, grille-pain, mini four. It was rainy and cold as I pulled into a gas station just North of Quebec City. I was joined by a couple from Amarillo, Texas on a big yellow three wheeled motorcycle with trailer. They were very enthusiastic, and kept commenting on the amount of trees in Virginia when they found out where I lived. Having driven 1,800 miles to go to a three-wheel motorcycle rally outside Montreal, they were reluctant to head home, so they were exploring up the the North bank of the St Lawrence. So was I. The road runs on the flat between a big cliff, and the water's edge -- and will probably be a casualty when the West Antarctic glaciers hit the sea. Geo: 49.221, -68.1525Baie-Comeau is another coastal port in Quebec and we were fortunate that it was pleasant dry weather for once. For some reason we had chosen to go on a tour called Manic 2, which was to a hydro-electric power station. The most enjoyable bit was the trip out to see it as we passed lots of lovely wooded areas in which the trees are starting to turn the lovely reds and browns of fall. Stefan enjoyed seeing all the dials and pipes etc on the interior of the huge dam but it really wasn't my scene. We also saw a seal and a dolphin out on the bay.
