For those of you who don't know yet, I am in fact back in Canada. I decided it was time to come home after I found out my Aunt passed away due to a long battle with Cancer. I'm sorry if I haven't contacted you yet, as I just returned from a trip down to see my sister in North Carolina. I'm still trying to get my bearings here in Canada (Everything is so flat!!!). There are some things that I'm having a hard time dealing with. I guess because things in New Zealand are taken at such a different pace. Things are more laid back there, and of course there is not even close to the same amount of traffic that I would experience due to living mostly in rural places. I've experienced my first ... read more

To all of you who do not know of our news yet, Dominic and I are now engaged. During our final couple of weeks at home before we moved to Dubai, Dominic proposed to me on June 4th. It was a beautiful, perfect day and setting. We had decided to go to the beach for the day, and then have dinner out at a nice restaurant. Little did I know that a proposal was in the planning! After a nice afternoon spent on the beach, we went to the beach bar to have a drink before getting ready for dinner. Once we were dressed in our dinner clothes, Dom then suggested that before going back into town for dinner, we should take a walk along the pier to the lighthouse at the end. I thought he ... read more

On May 8th I flew home to see my family in Ontario. Dom stayed in Vancouver for one more week, to tie up any loose ends like the final sale of our condo and jeep. My sister Ashley was getting married on May 21st, so I was able to spend that time helping her with the final preparations, and throw her a wedding shower and bachelorette party. It was really nice to be home for a good amount of time, and since I was still waiting to hear about the job with Emirates, the time at home was indefinite. Ashley married Ben on May 21st, and I was her Maid-of-honour for the event. She was a beautiful bride and it was a very special day for all of us. On the night of the wedding, after ... read more

This is my brand new Travelblog, very happy to have begun. The countdown is on, only 13 more days until I leave Canada's London for England's London! Currently I am still in school mode since exams are next week, so planning my trip will now take up all of my study break time. I will leave Toronto to fly into London April 26th, and then return May 28th. In that time I hope to hit up France, Italy, and Greece before returning to London. Since the internet is everywhere, I am going to try and keep up with these postings as I go. Please comment so I know you're reading along and I promise to keep it interesting!... read more

Let's just begin with this year's New Year invitation, compliments of Phil: "I would like to cordially invite any and all persons, loved ones, and mistress's to attend a new year's eve celebration in the great city of London Ontario. Mind you this is merely a suggestion, let me remind you that my proposal includes: extreme drunkiness/rowdiness, nudity, table dancing, a copulous amount of champagne, attendance at one of londons numerous drinking holes to ring in the new year with a followup performance at the 919 waterloo street residence where i reside to watch people drop like flies." That being read, I think it is much easier for people to understand the kind of New Year's I had. Once again, New Year's was out of control and a lot of fun! The evening began at ... read more

first off id like to say that ive gotten almost 100 page views in the past month, and it is adding up as you read this. there is nothing better then hearing from a loved one or a friend, its a pickup like no other. so thank you, and keep it coming. next, i would like to thank all of the wonderful courthouse employees, my friends, for coming down on oct 28th for a little party by the little red roaster. (solid as a...) there was a flow of positive energy that took over me that day, as you all saw, an unexpected burst of happiness to put it lightly. i was amazed by the feel of the whole party. you could feel the love in the air, literally, something i will never forget...ever. so thank ... read more

as Johanne so eloquently puts it. It's wierd, I'm not excited yet. I mean I am but I've been running around trying to make sure I have everything (including 2 Sars/Chicken Flu masks). I'm dead tired, I have big bags under my eyes. I want this trip to finally begin so I can leave behind trying to teach my Dad how to use the internet, which is quite commical in itself to those of you who know my Dad. You plan for this trip for some time, and when it comes down to the wire, you're running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. My computer is making want to kick it really hard...grrr. I'm trying to do my last round of phone calls so I can have some rest tomorrow before leaving for ... read more

greetings from southwestern ontario, thanks for taking the time to check out this web-journal of mine, as i will be updating it whenever i can in the midst of my travels. i figured i would do this travel journal bit instead of e-mails all the time. giving this website out i think will be easier for me especially, and this way everyone can read what others are saying and thinking. you will be able to comment on each entry i leave, so PLEASE do so, it will be the best way for me to hear from you all, and a taste of home will always be appreciated. 25 days left until we leave. this has been a dream of mine and andy's for the last 2 years. it began as a thought over coffee, and now ... read more
