Vancouver City is fun, Vancouver Island is beautiful, but our van sux! we bought an ugly van thing last Tuesday and it blew up on Thursday - Doh! All good though, after a couple of days waiting around for it to get fixed on Vancouver Island, she's back on the road and running like a dream! So far we've been here for just over a week and are loving Canada. We went to an Ice Hockey game the other night which was absolutely fantastic! there was heaps of good fights, real pop-corn vendors, and some heavily romantic type even proposed to his wife in one of the breaks - we couldn't believe our luck. And it's not even as cold here as we thought it was going to be, but that kinda sux because it means ... read more

Graham and I have been in the Vancouver area for a few days now, visiting some of his friends and family and taking care of some final preparations. It's not quite the same as Texas weather--currently snowing. We've got rupies, rubbles, and yen in our pockets and plane tickets to Delhi via Moscow for tomorrow morning. It will be 12 hours straight of flying, a 7 hour layover in Moscow, and then on to Delhi, getting us there around midnight. It should be an interesting time of day to find our way to our hostel. We'd love to hear about all the updates of our friends and families. Email us, and subscribe to this travelblog so you can know whenever we update it. Hope you enjoy. And I hope I can pry Graham away from his ... read more

I can't believe that I take off for the airport in about an hour. After all the planning that I've been doing the last year, my dream trip is about to start! Somebody pinch me! I know I won't have internet access everyday but will try and keep making entries as often as I can. I also hope to hear from some of you as well. As I have been saying for a while now, “Nothing echoes louder than an empty mailbox!” Leaving on a jet plane Don't know when I'll be back again Bye bye for now. :) On that note, I need to double check I have everything before take off! Later, Bonnie ... read more

The ferry back to Vancouver was busy but they held our reservation and we made it onto the 9AM as planned. The day just seemed to zoom by and I swear I packed my bag at least 5 times. Had one last dinner with my family which has inspired today's haiku (with some help from Jax) Meal with extra grease Pizza, burgers & chicken Arteries clogging. Still some last minute things to do before taking off... ... read more

Ho ho ho! It's officially Christmas. I had a tough time getting to bed last night. Not sure why. Perhaps it was the excitement from winning $5 on that scratch ticket my sister gave me or all the sugar coursing through my veins from all the chocolate, cheesecake and tiramisu or just plain procrastinating cuz I knew I had to move all that stuff from my bed to my desk before I could crawl into bed. Then the power suddenly went out. That was my cue to go to bed! Christmas Eve in the Eng household was as predicted there was mass consumption of yummy foods, laughter, talking/gossiping, picture taking (I took over 100 shots plus a couple of videos) and the oh so fun gift exchange. Oh and now I have confirmation that I don't ... read more

Wow! Christmas Eve today and Santa will be visiting once again...or at least I hope he will. haha Hopefully the real Santa will visit tonight since I have finally caught on that Vic has been dressing up as Santa all these years. I think it was his black eyebrows that gave him away... I can’t wait for tonight's feast especially since I missed out last year. Rumour has it that my mom is making a few of my favourites. Not only do I look forward to all of the good food to eat tonight (note to self, wear the pants with the elastic waist!) but I also look forward to seeing family and friends as well. It's funny how aunts, uncles, cousins etc. can all live in the same city yet we only see each other ... read more

Bite Chew Chomp Slurp Burp Eating Eating all the time Yuuuuuuuuuu-me! I love it! The last couple of weeks have been all about the food! That's what I love about the holidays but I think my waistline has a different opinion. :) I think my arteries are well lubricated from all of the greasy, fatty foods I've been eating. lol The eating "festival" doesn't look like it will come to an end until I leave on Tuesday. Gotta love it! It is official. Every single Chinese person in Vancouver now has a cell phone. haha In other words, I am now a cell phone owner. I don't quite believe it myself but for peace of mind for my mom I signed up for one yesterday. Plus she wouldn't stop talking to me about getting one! Nothing ... read more
