* How long do you think I should stay in each country and where are the points I will be needing plane tickets!!

All help is appreciated!!

Hi Jayden,

Where are you starting from?

How long do you have in total?

What are your interests? - art/culture/nature/mixed bag?

Do you have a limited budget?

Take a read of the Travel Guide - there is a lot of basic information in there that will help in the early stages. Reply to this

You've got well over a year there, done well... and the where and when of the plane tickets is entirely up to you. Factors to consider:

Weather; For example, monsoons come in West Africa during June & July. That might be a good time to be elsewhere.😊 Yes, you're not planning on Africa, but the same thing applies to winter months. THey'd be a good time to be someplace tropical or at least moderate. Japan is an Island, airfare required. Dunno if they have International ferries or not. UK has the Tube but Ryanaire might serve you better. And yes, as Ali asked, where are you starting from, or at least tell us which is your planned first destination?

Really, think you need to be doing your homework yourself a bit more - not to the point of talking yourself out of going. Just do some online research about temperatures at weatherunderground.com, and use GoogleEarth or somesuch to do a little examination of the terrains and realities of some of those aspects. Then come back to us with more specific questions and we'll be in a better position to help.

Thankyou for both replying. My route has changed a little here is my exact route in order:

Melbourne plane to Tokyo $690 (Thai Airways)
Tokyo plane to Beijing $515 (China Eastern Air)
Beijing plane to Moscow $458 (Qatar Airways)
Moscow train to St Petersburg $60
St Petersburg train to Helsinki $131
Helsinki plane to Stockholm $75 (Scandinavian Airlines)
Stockholm plane to Copenhagen $120 (Scandinavian Airlines)

Copenhagen train to Germany
Germany to Czech Republic
Czech Republic to Austria
Austria to Hungary
Hungary to Greece
Greece ferry Italy
Italy train to Switzerland
Switzerland train to Paris
Paris train to Luxemburg
Luxembourg train to Brussels
Brussels train to Amsterdam

Amsterdam plane to London $14 (British Airways)

* All in AUSTRALIAN dollars.

TOTAL BUDGET AROUND: $20,000
- Airfares, Trains etc budget is around $3500
- So roughly $17,000 for food, accommodation, spending money etc..

JT - Thanks for your information about the weather etc but I am just interested in knowing how long I should spend in each country and once I know my time management I will come back with more complex questions =]

Cheers,
- JAYDEN

Jayden,

If you say so, mate.😊 I'd wanna be thinking about the time of year BEFORE I went lining up orders of places I'm gonna visit.

THe Hong Kong to Beijing sounds high... but you've got plenty of spare budget so no worries.

Where all have you been before, for how long, and how did you travel when you did (i.e. Backpacker, hostels, 4-star hotels)?

BTW, my bad... Not Tube (though London does have that)... I was thinking of the Chunnel to get from Paris to London by train, for example. Reply to this
