i cant help but get the impression that a backpacker and a credit card is an odd couple.

i think the bank would love me a lot if i were MR. Homebound with a mortgage, car , five kids and a very high maintanance wife, who just about manages to pay the bills but needs to splash out every time a birthday , holiday, or christmas comes up..

yuck!

....i can almost see the enthusiasm draining out of their face as i try my questions "how can i turn this off, how can i turn that off... can i have zero credit limit? etc etc........

i know they need to make money off us, thats their job, so charges here and there must be accepted
but i think there is a need for a "travellers credit card" with the needs of a traveller in mind

here are my perfect credit card features

1. user activate and deactivate the card online (better still ..activate card for set time ie. 1 hour and card automatically deactivates)

2. user can choose his/her own credit limit within the maximum amount (including zero)

3. user can activate/deactivate for certain zones only, via an online map of the world

4. can carry spare inactive card in case of loss

is that so hard?

tell me it exists already hehe

1. No chance
2. just ask the credit card place to set it
3. No chance, unless they block everything and you tell them one by one which you are going to.
4. Apparently this is possible. Reply to this
