I have just spent a few very hot and sunny days in my tent on the coast. It was too hot to do much, so I read a couple of books between snoozes. Yesterday, Ineke, Alex and Dad came for the day. And today I had to break camp and come home, time for mowing again! I thoroughly enjoyed myself!... read more

Alex and I spent a few days in Glasgow last week, and decided to stop in the Yorkshire Dales on the way up. We've had a lovely time, the weather was hot and sunny, and despite a severely thundery day here yesterday, with a downpour just as we arrived home,( very good for the plants) , today turned out to be lovely again, and I've been sitting out in the garden all evening.... read more

This morning Alex and I went for a walk in the bluebell woods...and as luck would have it, a new cache has been placed there too, so we had two purposes. Three, if you include the exercise! Which it is, as the wood grows on an Iron Age hill fort with very steep ramparts. The bluebells were beautiful, and the cache had four parts, all oak tree related, and we managed to locate each part and thus find the final hidden Tupperware box. Good mornings work.... read more

Dad, Alex and I went up to the Green Lane Burial field today as it was Mum's birthday. It was a beautiful day to go and we couldn't help thinking that she'd chosen a really good spot in a lovely place. With a little help from Eira, who runs the field and happened to be about, we found Mum's stone and could wish her a happy birthday. After a short sit at the top of he hill, we decided on a pub lunch, and it were able to sit outside and eat fish and chips.... read more

Frank and Margaret are in Wales for their annual Easter trip, and we met up with them on Monday, despite the fact that snow had covered us once again during the night. Auntie Margaret had spent Easter Sunday in outpatients in Aberystwyth hospital as she'd fallen and broken a small bone in her shoulder, but she wasn't going to let that deter her. So we spent a lovely couple of hours catching up and eating lunch, and by the time we left the snow was almost washed away. Mind you, there was still plenty left in the hedges round here from two weeks ago........ read more

Once the snow had cleared I set off for Glasgow to celebrate Sophie's birthday, though I was eager to see those children too, because they will keep growing. As usual we had a busy time, the days flew by and now I'm home again.... read more

We took advantage of another glorious day for a trip to the sea. We chose Ynys Las and stopped in the Community Café for coffee on the way. There was a strong and very chilly wind on the beach, and it was most invigorating! It was good to see lots of families out enjoying themselves, and dogs racing about madly with the wind in their tails. We found a couple of caches, a day out wouldn't be complete without, would it? And on the way home, a merlin flew along the road right in front of the car.....we didn't even have to slow down much, he was flying so fast. Then he suddenly upped and over the hedge. What a sight.... read more
