Geo: 52.0593, 1.15567The south East of Suffolk is very flat with estuaries and sea shores being very muddy, thus this area is called the mud flat. The scenery of the seashore at Orford is not particularly dramatic however Orford is a picturesque village. As we have found very often along our journey across England, British villages are usually very nice. On our way there we passed a house out of a fairy tale. It doesn't show well on the picture but this red bricks house with its thatched roof, its walls covered with ivy and all the multicolored flowers at the front just reminded both of us of Hansel & Gretel. In the evening we went with Tom for a digestive walk. The initial plan was to take a quit walk to have a view at the ... read more

Sunday August 11,2013 Suffolk Awoke up to a another overcast day at PFH and came down to breakfast. Afterwards...I relaxed by checking my laptop, I-Pad and also my I-phone. It was nice to just chill for a bit and then decide what to do next after a few days of being busy. Later...Sally introduced Bette, Paula and myself to the world of FELT and how to make bracelets. Before lunch....we made our felt balls from different colors and then later today or tomorrow....we will finish the felt project. We have discussed the possibility of making a Rabbit or stuffed Animal out of Felt. It is really fun!! Today was a relaxing day for all of us! Another (Wwoofer) arrived from Lille, France and his name is Victor. He came last summer and enjoyed his time gardening, ... read more

Saturday August 10,2013 Suffolk I awoke to another overcast morning at PFH and had a nice breakfast with Sally. Afterwards....borrowed a bike and went to Tesco's (British Grocery Store) and did some errands. An hour later....brought back two bunches of yellow roses for my aunt Penny. Around 1:05 pm.....drove towards East Bergholt to have lunch with my aunt and uncle. It was wonderful to see them and catch up with the family news. Took pictures of their dog, house and the tall Willow tree waiting to hug me. Ate a scrumptious meal made by my uncle who used to be a chef and caterer and now is also in the B&B business. Sally and I drove back past the town of Hadleigh towards Ipswich.....back to our home....Poplar Farm House. It was around 5:30 p m when ... read more

Friday August 9,2013 Suffolk I woke up to a overcast day at PFH. After breakfast....I was ready for a stint at "The Community Shop" in Sproughton. Now...you ask what am I talking about ...well put down your coffee and find out how this village shop got started. Several people in the community came up with a way for the villagers to have a local small grocery shop. Through a lot of perseverance, patience and funds..... the Community Shop opened in April 2010. This shop has been going strong for the past three years with the help of many people especially the volunteers. I put on a blue apron and stood behind the counter and greeted customers and stocked shelves. Also...I enjoyed ringing up the customers with the "till"(cash register) and counting out the right change.... read more

Thursday August 8,2013 Suffolk I awoke to sunshine and blue skies at PFH and I had slept in a caravan which was fun! On the grounds of PFH.....there is a pool, tennis court, several gardens and pathways to get lost in while having an adventure outside. There are several different places where one can sleep besides the main house itself. Inside the house.....there are respectively three bedrooms which B&B people use and or family and friends. Outside on the premises.........there is a separate building which includes an Arts and Crafts room and another bedroom which is called: The Rooms. However there are three other different places to lay your head on a pillow for the night. As you step outside....you walk towards the pool and the tennis court and on your left are two caravans. One ... read more

Wednesday August 7,2013 Suffolk Awoke to a windy but clear day in Hampshire, England. I am well rested and ready to explore with my relatives. I went downstairs to have some breakfast and greeted Philippa, Jeremy and Sally. Also said hello to the dogs.....Shaka and Scallywags. After breakfast.....the three ladies decided to do some shopping in Waterlooville. We hopped into Philippa's car and headed to the suburb of Waterlooville. We drove to TKMAX........a discount store similar to shops like TJMAXX and Marshalls which are based in the states. Everyone walked away with a "goody bag" after shopping for an hour. The three of us returned only to say our "goodbyes " and head home towards East Anglia. Sally and I left Hampshire around 12:30 pm or so and it took us about 2 and half hours ... read more

The only thing that i know about the place is that Clint Eastwood was once Mayor or so I've been told with many a 'do you feel luck punk' quotes coming out. With all my packing done it was time to have a celebration of an early birthday, diamond jubilee and leaving BBQ. It was a fitting send off with half decent weather, good food and good company! A special thanks to firstly Devvo, Coach and Deano for coming down for the weekend and secondly to Mum and Dad for organising it and thirdly everyone who came! So this is it i hope to keep you entertained and interested ... read more
