So I just came back from a short break in Scarborough. Now for those that know me, they will know how much I love Scarborough and its surrounding areas. I used to take family holidays there growing up so the place holds a lot of special memories for me. So anyway my sister and I did a LOT of walking and visited the Sea Life Centre, played some crazy golf, took a long walk along the coast and we also went to Whitby for the day. Unfortunately due to mist I didnt take ay pics in Whitby...I did however get a very cool Anchorman tshirt :D ... read more

I felt so frumpy today. I'm sure you can all relate to those days when you just don't feel good in anything you have. To be honest, I've neglected myself. After a good breakfast and a few cups of tea, I ventured into town in search of things to beautify myself. Bright pink nail polish, divine smelling body lotion and a body scrub. Back home I had a luxurious bath, making sure to primp and prime myself, well, for myself. With Valentines Day coming up, I was reminded that it is important to feel and look good, not only for the one you love, but more importantly for yourself. I forgot that while we've been travelling and waiting for news on India. So today was for me. I have pink toe nails and finger nails and ... read more

Our holiday on holiday in Edinburgh was great. We had a lazy mornings at the hotel followed by walks around the old streets of Edinburgh. We visited Edinburgh Castle, shopped at all the touristy shops (for me of course) and managed to climb Arthur's Seat. Not an easy feat when I thought I was climbing the smaller hill and was not mentally prepared to climb the HUGE one. Ok, so it wasn't that big, but it was cold (she says with a sulky face). But it was a beautiful view of the city from the top. We lugged our bags to the train station and caught the train to Scarborough. I love going on the train! =) Gordon has been at work this past week; and I've been making myself at home. Gordon travelled to Wombourne ... read more

Its a fallacy to say that it does naught but rain in the UK. This is of course not the case-it's only true on most occasions! But on those rare days when the sun does shine and the sky is blue, England for me becomes a bewitching place of sparkling beauty. It just doesn't happen quite often enough for my liking! The other truly annoying thing is that even on those occasions when the sun does shine, there's often no opportunity to enjoy it as one is caught up with everyday commitments and isn't at liberty to declare a personal holiday simply to go outside and dance in the sunlight. I've spent many a weekday staring out the window from my desk willing some sudden announcement that work today is cancelled and everyone must leave immediately. ... read more

March 9th 2008

Sunday the 9th of March saw a few members of our branch meeting up at one of our usual meeting places, Mc Donald’s at Barlbrough. I decided to take my Honda ST1100 Pan European out this day because I’d had a new rear tyre fitted and I just wanted to bed it in a bit ready for the 2008 touring season. When I arrived at the meeting point around 9:45 there was only Keven there waiting, which quite suppressed me because normally I’d expect Paul and Lisa to be there very early, unfortunately they were not to join us on this ride out, the reason becoming apparent the next evening at the branch meeting. While we were at the meeting point, a silver Honda VFR joined us with a guy who was Paul’s mate, he wanted ... read more

Gday all After waking up fit and healthy after the party last night we debated and decided we had better find a replacement for NavGirl as its a lot easier Introducing the Evil Twin We bought the same make and model of NavMan (mind you for about $200 less then the original) As I havent had a chance to upgrade the software for it yet she is a bit slow calculating the route we should be taking so she is on my back all the time "Do a U-Turn when possible" geez you would think she was my wife...haha sorry Jules We will be holding a burial for NavGirl when we get home...she did serve us very well for the small time she was with us. Well back on to the trip We went to Scarborough ... read more

yesterday (Dec. 1) Julia and I headed out to Scarborough. Thus far, I have been reluctant to travel around Britain b/c everything over here is so expensive and its one of my main goals to get to as many countries as possible. However, I feel kind of bad for Julia b/c she's only here for the semester (which means she's really cramped for time to do everything), and the only person she has to travel with is me (this is bad b/c i'm really cheap). when she told me that we could get to and from scarborough for only £6.50, though, I relented. In case you don't know, Scarborough is a coastal city in Yorkshire. It's pretty small, but I hear it draws a big crowd in the summer. We had really fantastic weather all day, ... read more

6-am saw me getting out of bed on this Mayday bank holiday and walking the dog. Actually I’d been awake since 5-am because I’d set the alarm wrong and kept hitting the snooze button for an hour. Once back home I had a bit of a snackette just to have something inside me to take me up to my breakfast after the ride through to Scarborough. I wheeled my Honda VFR750 out of the garage, please that I’d sorted the problem with the headlamps the night before. Putting it on the main stand I gave the chain a liberal dose of chain lube and checked the adjustment. I would have liked the bike to be a little bit cleaner but time was against me, apart from calling for fuel and checking the tyre pressures I ... read more
