very english... This past Saturday the 12th was 'Trooping the Colour'. Trooping the Colour info I woke up early on Saturday morning to be there on the Mall by St. James' Park when the Royal Family rode by. Even at the beginning my preparation skills were evident as we embarked on our journey, taking only what we needed and in small quantities at that. Ok I lied; I left my gloves and scarf. Preparation skills are something that I desire; they are not something I own. As I envisioned them sitting on my bed I hoped they were the only two things I’ve forgotten to bring, but only time will tell. Waiting for the first plane was pretty painless. The youngest Berry looked as if she would faint without food so she sat and enjoyed her cheese and ham toasty at eight this morning. She ever so graciously left a corner and the crumbs for me. Day One - And it begins, cry havoc It’s early to rise and already, travelling with three laydees is a ‘challenge’. It will be a long four weeks methinks but then again it is four weeks in SE Asia just as Belfast sees snow and icy roads. Anyhow, it’s a short hop over to Heathrow before the bags are thrown into left luggage for the day. Express into Paddington for the obligatory picture with the eponymous bear statue and the foray onto the Tube. Now I’ve been slooow at an unfamiliar ticket machine before but good God, some people are defective. How long does it take two people to top up an Oyster card? Why? Because that means an extra half an hour of sleep come morning. Today is Wednesday, no classes for Sarah. However, I had to get up early this morning anyways and go to the Abbey for English class. We are currently talking about sarcasm and irony, so we have to write a paper, suggesting Westminster be turned into something else. I was tossing about the idea of turning it into a Sainsbury's (grocery store). But I think I am going to go with five star resort. The best suite being with Elizabeth I of course. I have been to the Abbey several times, but I never get bored with it. Thinking about how close you are to all those famous people from hundreds and hundreds of years ago is insane.
