I am an American student, that lived in London for a year. Now I am back in plain ol' Tallahassee Florida. I'm majoring in Communications with minors in International Affairs and British Studies. And I currently have a nose bleed.

I'm stuck, I'm stuck, I'm stuck in Florida!! And I'm already trying to plan a European summer. Right now, (and my plans change all the time) I want to be in England for a majority of my summer. Spending most of my time in Reading, with visits to friends in London and Cambridge (Bedford really). But my logic is, why would I spend so much money on an international flight and not take advantage of cheap inter-European travel? I'm already looking at Ryanair and have found £2 tickets for Krakow, Oslo, and Stockholm and £30 tickets to Berlin, Grenada, Pisa, and Madrid. My logic for having only travelled to France 3 times (rather than going to another country; Scotland and Wales don't really count) was because I know some French, at least enough to get by. ... read more

How depressing to have to do through my little location list and select USA instead of all those other exotic choices. Ok, so the UK is hardly considered exotic, but many people here like to think so. Speaking of exotic I always thought I could deal well with that type of environment. Maybe not for a long period of time, but at least for a little while. My idea was to study hollistic medicine and change the world like Angelina Jolie. (mom doesn't think I can do it!) But I'll find away, even if it means having to stay at disneyland resorts alongside Samantha Brown first! Speaking of the travel channel.. did you know that through FSU's international programs you can do an internship with them in London? Yeah, I don't think I can pass that ... read more

Sorry it has been a while, it seems that every entry is going to start with that wonderful opening. I have been extremely busy, know excuse I know, but it happens. My mother was here for the week I had off of school as as you can imagine we were doing all things touristy. There were things, I am ashamed to say, that I have not done since I was a tourist here. Including the tower of London, I had forgotten how much I liked that place. We had the same beefeater that we had over a year ago, and it was kind of cool, because I like to think of it as the place that Chris and I had our first date... so what if my dad and sister were there, and he was avoiding ... read more

I skipped classes today! ahhhhhh my first time ever missing a college class. But I am just horribly sick. I wanted to stay in bed today in hopes of getting better because I had planned to spend the day in Gloucester and Wales tomorrow. So keep your fingers crossed for me. And in return I will write you a great entry all about it. Happy Mardi Gras everyone! Hope you are all filling up on everything horrible for you, as Lent starts tomorrow. I know, I am not Catholic, but ever since 6th grade, when Kelsey taught me Lent, it is something I have participated in. I always start out by giving up many things, maybe one makes it all the way to Easter. This year, I will not fail though! Because Chris and I are ... read more

Good eve all. First thing is first, I have to address a few fans, haha hardly. Mélanie, thank you for all your kind words, I am so glad you are reading this! But you asked about Communications, I'm not sure how universities work in Quebec, but since I am still technically attending an American university I do everything through them. If you wanted to come to the UK, you would have to see what sort of study abroad programs your university offers, they might do an exchange program with some Unis in the UK. Second of all, the American Uni system is a bit more confusing than the straight forward European-style ones. We basically attend school for 4 or more years, not on a set course, but we have to complete a certain amount of credits. ... read more

Day 3 in a row! I am on a roll! WARNING: Flat 15 is under quarantine! No one enter upon risk of contracting the plague! A few nights ago, Haley, my neighbour, had to be taken to the hospital vomiting up a storm. She had a stomach virus that is now going around. Henry had it yesterday and no I think my flatmate Emeri might be coming down with something. There are signs all over the door of 15, warning possible guests and victims. I bet I will wake up sometime this weekend with this vile bug. I hope, if any day... it is Saturday. Have fun things planned for every other day. Today was the usual Thursday... wake up for classes a little before 8, only there was something extra special about this morning... our ... read more

Why? Because that means an extra half an hour of sleep come morning. Today is Wednesday, no classes for Sarah. However, I had to get up early this morning anyways and go to the Abbey for English class. We are currently talking about sarcasm and irony, so we have to write a paper, suggesting Westminster be turned into something else. I was tossing about the idea of turning it into a Sainsbury's (grocery store). But I think I am going to go with five star resort. The best suite being with Elizabeth I of course. I have been to the Abbey several times, but I never get bored with it. Thinking about how close you are to all those famous people from hundreds and hundreds of years ago is insane. I stood on Charles Darwin, and ... read more

Hardly a struggle! Not here in London town. Or as my "location" says, Cambridge. I was there last week, so I thought I would use it so as not to sound repetative with always "Greater London - Bloomsbury" Anyways, I mentioned I visted Cambridge last week, famous for it's prestigious college. I will give them that it is very beautiful, as far as the town goes, I prefer Oxford. I'm going to make like Bill Clinton and get there some how, except I'm going to inhale! (just kidding!) Cambridge is about 2 hours north of London (by coach) tucked away in the middle of Cambridgeshire. The names of counties are usually straight forward here. Cambridge is in Cambridgeshire, Oxford is in Oxfordshire, York is in yorkshire, Gloucester is in Gloucestershire, Leicester is in Leicestershire. *** Lesson ... read more
