For some reason it only recently occured to me that I am graduating this summer and have to enter the real adult world and begin the cycle of job hunting, applications, interviews and all the other dredgery before cheerfully launching myself into the next 50 years of 9-5 work...What an optimist I have become! With this in mind I have decided that I would like to embark on a meaningful project (with a little bit of travel thrown in of course!!) in a country I have never been to (or likely have never heard of) and do some good! Doing things that scare you are definately underrated and after spending five years becoming institutionalised at Bournemouth Uni I think it would be best for me to see a bit of the world from another perspective. I ... read more

Well it is only 3 days to the start of the journey. All of the christmas and new year preparations and celebrations are now out of the way. It was touch and go when the Airport workers announced their strike intentions, and the past few days have seen the back up plans polished as far as they can be. Late changes to hotels and planes are now sorted, so we will soon see if we have forgot something. It is now T4 day as we sit in Terminal 4 at Heathrow waiting for the flight. Lousy weather and cold to boot. Our first destination is Sao Paulo in Brazil and are due to arrive at 10 o'clock tonight. We will be pretty tired by the time we get there. Lindsay has just swept the duty free ... read more

So I am off to South Africa tomorrow. I will be spending Christmas and New years at Moholoholo rehabilitation centre which is where I spent 3 months earlier this year. I thought it would be a good idea to keep a journal again for friends and family back home and it is quite nice to read my journal entries once I am home. I'm feeling a little nervous about my trip. I have to fly via Cairo and i'm completely on my own this time ahhh!! I can't wait to see the Bush baby I looked after last time though and I can't wait to see everyone out there again but I don't think its really sunk in yet that i'm actually going. I have barely packed and still have some university work to do! So ... read more

Well the planning is coming together - but LAN keep changing the timetables for the connecting flights that I have spent a long time putting the finishing touches to. The internet has proved to be a great facility in organising flights, tours, hotels, and airport transportation. If everything goes pear shaped I will be lost without access to a computer! WE have been through the passport and visa details (none needed - visas that is) and a visit to the quack has resulted in an update of the heath passport and yellow fever jabs and a prescription for Malarone malarial tablets - what a price these are! and not available on the national health, although it will cost them thousands to treat you if you come back with malaria! Still no risks!. Our plans are to ... read more

.....well nearly. We are still here, up to our ears in boxes and knee deep in crap from our collapsed sewer. Don't ask. Anyway, the main point of this entry is to check that this blog thing is working. If there are any obvious omissions from my list please let me know. Hope you are all having a nice week at work! :o) Scott and Jenny.... read more

Welcome to the first entry of our travel blog. The next one will come from a sunny, exotic beautiful place....jealous yet? Have sort of packed but my bag but it's sooooo heavy that when i put it on my back i fell over like a turtle and couldn't get up! Will try and sneak some into si's bag! Recommended 10kg my arse...they obviously don't know about ladies bare essentials. Meanwhile I (Simon) haven't packed my bag yet, but somehow vast amounts of conditioner and moisturiser have worked there way in there! Most things are ... read more

After taking the lorry out early morning on Friday Wayne headed to work and I had a snooze. We drove down to Swanage on Friday afternoon, and for once had a good run. We met the gang in town for some dinner at the pub at 8ish and had a good chat. We woke early on Saturday for Breakfast at 7am before heading to the Pier. It was a bit of a rush kitting up as we were very close to the dive site. We all rolled off the boat to dive the Cantaran a broken up wreck, very pretty - we even saw a cuttlefish. We came back in to shore after the first dive, Wayne and I had a nap on a bench as were still a bit tired, and an ice cream woke ... read more

Hello dear friends and family! After numerous complaints from avid fans of the Chasanaski travel blog, we have succumbed. Please do not be alarmed; our long absence from the web after our "two-a-week" schedule can be easily explained simply through busy schedules and limited internet connections. Hence why Sof and Zac are beating Chas at Arrested Development trivia on Facebook. Anyway, here is our long-awaited, much-demanded blog on life in England. Our arrival into England Well, after traveling for hours by car and ferry from France, our arrival at about 11pm into Poole, England was not the warmest of welcomes we've experienced. Our wonderful friends Don and Alison Cameron had very kindly offered to drive us from St Just all the way to Sherborne, as they had space in their car. However, after waiting our turn ... read more
