Kia ora everyone, well my time in Newquay is comming to an end, I finished work with the bungy and road buggys 2 days ago. Was kinda sad to be pulling it all down after such a great 2 months chilling out there in the sun everyday. I was really lucky to get that job and have such a cool crew however im sure my liver doesnt agree. We had a huge weekend for bank holiday when the population boosts up to like 200 thousand from 16 thousand during winter. 12 Kiwi friends from London came down and it was mayhem, The All Blacks game at 8am Sat morn kicked it all off and it ended monday morning. Otherwise ive been enjoying the beaches, work, meeting alot of really cool people, we have switched caravans with ... read more

Hows everyone out there, safe and well I hope, this blog is comming from Newquay which is a very popular beach side town in south west England. I have been here for about 4 weeks now and loving it. Met up with Kadia my bro from NZ and we went in search of a pad, and ended up in this sweet as caravan 15mins walk from town centre. I am really enjoying living in a caravan as it feels like your on holiday all the time. Scored a job on a bungy gig also hiring out road buggys and have a really cool crew which turns up most mornings with head aches and blurry eyes. As it is school holidays here at the moment it is packed, stag dos, hen nights, sports teams, everyone seems to ... read more

King Arthur's Birthplace Re-enactment on the hill. Acting needs some work! Not a very big night out last night. 95% of us were in bed by midnight. Only about a dozen of us made it out last night. As all group dynamics go, especially when we don't really know one another all that well, it took forever to make a decision on where to go. It was narrowed down to the Walkabout or Belushi's which is at our hostel. Some didn't want to pay the £3 cover charge at the Walkabout but Sarah really wanted to go for a taste of Australia. Apparently Walkabout is a typical Aussie bar AND being Tuesday the theme is Beach night. Plus rumour has it that wet t-shirt contests, stripping and games like that are quite popular. If you knew ... read more

Going to Land's End Looking for some stacked stones Are we there yet Cai? Morning start at 8:30 seems a bit late to me now but at least I can take my time getting ready in the morning. One good thing about this hostel is that they always provide breakfast. I have my fruit packed from the other day which will be great for snacking on and will ensure I'm not always eating "bad for you" foods. :) I have been hanging out with Sarah lots the past 24 hours. We were actually on the same bus coming down from Edinburgh but knowing it was only two days, one night the bus was pretty anti-social in my opinion. Anyway, since yesterday Sarah has invited me to do stuff with her while I'm in London which is ... read more

Big stones at Stonehenge Homity pie is yummy Big break in Launceton. Wow, less than 12 hours in my hostel here in London and I’m back at the Haggis office ready to take off on another four day/three night tour of Cornwall. I should have just slept on the sidewalk last night so as to save £15. haha We will see stuff like Newquay, Land’s End, Stonehenge and Bath again. It should be good…or at least that is what I’m hoping for in any case! I’m excited about this coming weekend when I’ll get the chance to see Robyn again. Robyn and I met back in India so it’ll be cool to see one another again. Robyn was actually in London the exact day that I left London to head north to Scotland. Doh! What timing. ... read more

Five days in the South Western English county of Cornwall After 5 hours+ in the car, we finally arrived in Perrenporth, picked up the key to our accommodation and dumped our bags. Perrenporth is a small seaside town on the north coast of Cornwall close to Newquay with a beach area, rocky cliffs, surfing and the other usual seaside pleasures. Unlike other coastal towns, it's small size and lack of fame makes it less crowded. However, a car is needed if you are going to visit the other famous sites in Cornwall. Our first evening was spent taking a walk around the town, seeing the sundial (set at Cornish time) and eating traditional fish and chips, nothing can beat fresh cod caught the same morning! After a much needed night's sleep, it was back in the ... read more

It appears that the Monday was a bank holiday. At the end of this day the only name I have for this holiday is 'bank holiday' and have no idea what this is about other than creating dreadful traveling conditions. I would highly advise waiting until after and 'bank holidays' to travel. I left Glastonbury and headed to Taunton with the bus being a half hour later than expected. No problem. Once I arrived in Taunton the connecting bus to Exeter required an hour and a half wait. Still not too bad. It was lunch by then so I went and grabbed a sausage. Once I got to exeter I found that there were only two buses going to Bude that day. with the first one leaving at 13:00 and the next one leaving at 17:15. ... read more

Heading back east along the bottom of the boot toe, I made my way through picturesque fishing villages. I saw a sign for Prince Harry’s Ferry. Instant detour. I always go out of my way for ferrys. Notable among the coastal town was the port city of Fowey. What a charming place! The roads in the old part of town are barely 8 feet wide! Beautiful. I continued eastwards through the Dartmoor National Park. As soon as I entered the park a shroud of mist enveloped me, giving the moors a stark spooky look about them. I loved it but, I didn’t love the 40 MPH speed limit. I sorta went faster than that. Continued eastwards until Sherbourne where I nabbed another hotel room. The next morning, the weather was still holding up. I timed it ... read more

I am currently enjoying a few days in Cornwall. We are definitely packing a lot in and have been touring all over the place. We went to the Eden project a few days ago, which was excellent. The biomes were really interesting although it was very hot and humid in there. We have also been to Lizard point (the most southerly point in mainland Britain). We stayed right next to the lighthouse which kept beeping every minute or so! We also went to Land’s End. We finally finished up on the north Cornish coast near Padstow. It was really nice here and we walked some of the coastal path. The sun came out and it was surprisingly warm for April - Laura got sunburnt!... read more
