Geo: 50.4713, -4.71761When I got up in the morning and went for a walk, I had to pass through the dining room to get outside. I just chuckled when I saw our table, complete with 5 chairs and an American flag. Really pretty little lane, with a ton of houses that I'd be happy to own. We took off for a drive through Dartmoor on our way to Land's End. Had to first get past the ponies. We had quite an adventure in some portions, with the tiny roads and all, but it was fun. Stopped at Buckland the town (hamlet), thinking it might be where Buckland Abbey was. Silly us. It wasn't, but we visited their little church as long as we were there. We went to stay in the lovely Trevalsa Court Hotel, Mevagissey for a few days. The hotel is right on the cliff edge, with just the coastal path separating it from the sea. The beach right across the coastal path from the hotel was lovely, despite the very steep climb down, not good if you are scared of heights, but I managed it more than once. It was deserted and although not big, was very beautiful. We walked along the coastal path, but realised how unfit we were! We walked into Mevagissey along the coastal path, and saw the village bathed in sunlight with the boats in the harbour. It was really quiet and many of the shops and restaurant were shut in Mevagissey because it was the winter. However we found enough to suit us ... read more

It was springtime and time to go to England again. This time we had made reservations at a farm cottage in Cornwall, a part of England we had never been to before. 2 April 1993 Friday. We drove from Overijse to Calais and caught the ferry to Dover. From there we skirted around the southern side of London and then headed southwest until the we reached the A303 which took us to Stonehenge. We stopped and walked around the assemblage of massive stones, which were placed precisely to align with the solstices and equinoxes; and other than astronomical purposes also served as a site for Druid ceremonies.
