Went for a drive about 30 miles or so up the coast, north of Goteborg. Just outside of the town of Marstrand, we went thro' a police checkpoint. They were checking driving licences and carrying out sobriety tests. First time I've ever been breathalysed.....came back negativo..... Marstrand and Skarhamn looked like nice places to visit in the Spring/Summer - something for next year. On the way home, had a massive fall out with Emily, she's the Garmin sat-nav lady. As a result managed to traverse the tunnel under the river 3 times before getting on the right road.... read more

Uddevalla, 30.07.2011. Wir sind im Unda Camping, in Uddevalla angekommen. Zum Glück einer, der noch Platz für uns hatte. Im Juli sind alle Campingplätze am Meer brechend voll. Bei zwei vorher angefahrenen Plätzen wurden wir abgewiesen, da sie voll waren. Werden mindestens über das Wochenende hier bleiben. Wir stehen hier umringt von Dauercampern. Die Parzelle ist riesig, hier könnten problemlos zwei Wohnmobile stehen. ... read more

If you were previously unaware, I am currently in Sweden where Adina and I are spending the summer visiting her friends and family after another wonderful year on Kauai. Like last summer, we are living in Lue-Lisa, the small cottage in the backyard of Adina's family's house, here in Halmstad, on the west coast of Sweden. While the focus of this trip is to spend time with Adina's friends and family, we have what I think will be a fun summer planned ahead. We will visit Copenhagen next week and I will be making a road trip to the fjord lands of Norway in early July. I feel like I have been travelling at the most sensational time of the year, although fresh and a little cold at times, the sun is normally shining, the sky is a beautiful blue and so far I have only had three or four days where it has rained on my entire trip – not bad considering I have now been on the road for eight weeks. When I arrived in Goteborg it was late on Friday afternoon and I checking out the map that I had been given I found that 200mts up the road from my hostel was Slottsskogen Park, a beautiful park (about 140 hectares in total) that was covered in snow, I felt such a real sense of peace, even though I was in the middle of quite a large city.
