Mollösund. Records of permanent settlements date back to the early 16th century. Traditionally predominant catches were herring & ling that was used to prepare the dish lutefisk. Building Älvsborg fortress (Oscar II) started 1899 and it was combat operational in 1907. The fort is blasted into the bedrock and surrounded by a fast grave with two 'kontereskarpgallerier'. Armament consisted of two 24 cm guns, two 15.2 cm cannons in armored towers, four 57 mm cannons, armored cupola and a number of 'kaponjär' cannons. Hammarkullen Carnival is the biggest and the most colourful cultural street carnival in Sweden. The carnival started in 1974 as a local festival, organized by the Latin-Americans from Chile and Bolivia living in the north-eastern part of Gothenburg in Sweden.... read more

Visited the Haverud aqueduct on the way to the 'Tree-House' following day we went to Karlstad for 2 nights. On Saturday we visited Glaskogen Nature Reserve, where we saw a snake (Probably a grass snake, but too quick for the action photographer. On Sunday we visited Nora and then got lost in Garphyttan National Park near Örebro. Common crane and a Great Spotted Woodpecker on this trip.... read more

Back to nature experience in the forest by Lake Elden - spent the night in a tree house. Howling wolves during the night. We were the only ones on the campsite - cooking over an open fire, heating the water for the shower and not forgetting the sauna by the lake.... read more
