Ey luitjes, Nog even een update voordat ik straks de wijde wereld intrek. Ik ben vandaag aan het proefpakken geweest en kwam uiteindelijk uit op een keurige 15,5 kilo, dus dat zit wel goed. Er zal nog wel het eea bij komen, maar gezien de beschikbare ruimte (beperkt!) zal het wel loslopen. Nog wat troep in de handbagage, maar ook weer niet te veel want je moet het ook weer kwijt in je backpack straks, in ieder geval tot het moment dat we onze camper hebben. Tja hoe ga je in godsnaam bepalen wat je de komende 6 maanden nodig gaat hebben in een land waar je nog nooit eerder geweest bent? Dag lieve kijkbuiskinderen, In een vlaag van waarbenjij.nu moeheid heb ik besloten om eens lekker non-conformistisch een blog te beginnen op travelblog.org. Ik vind het de moeite waard om de originele blog te bezoeken op http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Ozzie-Rick/ , maar als het goed is worden alle berichten ook automatisch op mijn Hyves en Facebook pagina geplaatst, dus ontwijken kan niet meer! Maar goed, Ozzie dus. Voor degenen die het nog niet wisten (en het derhalve waarschijnlijk ook geen f*ck interesseert, maar dat terzijde), deze jongen gaat met Dhr. Boeters en de Dhr. Geers voor een half jaar Australië en Nieuw Zeeland onveilig maken. Echt veel dingen staan er nog niet vast, behalve het feit dat we in Cairns beginnen en in Sydney willen uitkomen. Holland, Netherlands, Niederland…anyway you say it, that is a great country. There is just a whole different vibe in the Netherlands versus other parts of Europe. The Flemish part of Belgium has a little of that feel but it just isn’t the same. I had read about this place, Kinderdijk which has the largest concentration of windmills and I thought it would be a great place to take the kids. It was very complicated to get there via public transportation so we rented a car for the day. Renting a car here is not cheap, but we figured that once you added up all of the buses and trains and factor in the (sometimes) convenience of coming and going as you please that it would be worth it. Relaxation in Delft...and a lot of bikes

sorry its been so long. you would think finding an internet cafe in europe would be easier. Quick Notes: 1. Holland is FLAT!!! This lends itself to lots and lots of bikers (not the Harley kind). Legally they do not have the right-of-way and must yield to cars, but nobody has told them that. Anyway, it makes for tricky driving because now you have two more lanes of traffic to pay attention to. Detail (but not much for Delft) We arrived in Delft after spending the morning getting our car window fixed. (see the brussels entry if you are confused). We loved Delft. It is a small country town, famous for its Delft porcelain (white and blue patterned.) Hello all! After the last update, we walked around downtown Rotterdam. It's a totally new city because most of it was destroyed in 1945. All of the architecture is ultra modern and one building even has an entire wall about 25 storeys high that is sort of a digital screen. We took a boat tour from Rotterdam to the windmills at Kinderdijk. There are 19 of them there. One is for touring and the other ones are houses now! The next day we took the train into Amsterdam. We strolled through the main streets and took in the Vincent Van Gogh Museum and checked out the Heineken brewery. Amsterdam is full of all sorts of places to help with the munchies! No trip to Amsterdam is complete without a walk through the Red Light district....eye-opening to ... read more
