We had wonderful weather the few days we were in Holland. It gave us the opportunity to see a little place called Woudrichem. It is one of the defence places called the water linie It is ringed by dykes and walls. and it dates from around the 1500 hundreds. Very interesting place. Could make nice photos there. We walked through the small place and had something to eat. Spending the whole afternoon there was no problem. So much to see you run out of time. Extremely nice weather that evening we could sit outside with a drink and talk about all sorts and that is what you do with Family you have not seen for a few years. We had some tropical days staying with Jola & Hugo, Liz brother. Been very hot and for the people in Holland not being used to that is that tiresome. Also there is in most houses no air condition. We did and saw some interesting things these last few days. Liz brother had to be in Gouda, we had never been there before so we made it an outing to visit this place. About 45 minutes drive, not an enormous.trip and goes quick going over the freeway. It is hard to find parking anywhere in Holland special in these places often visited by Tourists. But we did but you can only pay by card due to thieving. Apparently those parking meters were robbed so no more cash money. So many interesting things to see walking through the ... read more

It was Sunday so hardly any traffic on the road. We never planned that it came out like that, reason our visit to Qatar. We had an easy transfer to the pickup place of Peugeot. The car was ready we just had to do the paperwork and we were of. We were told where we could fuel, that was close by. All good roads and with 400 k.m. to go we did not spend much time the fuel station. We had another stop for a nature call and my urgent need for a cup of coffee. Beautiful roads and no truck traffic for they are not allowed to work weekends. It was nice driving weather and we could sit on 130 k.m. per hour. We are already a few days here. Enjoying very nice weather and starting to get ready for the Europe tour. We had a birthday party as well. We will spent the day with shopping and setting things up. It was a nice reception by Jola and Hugo in Etten leur. Jola cooked a nice tea with our favourite vegie, Brussels lof. Very nice. She had rolled the lof in bacon. At night we saw the soccer. It runs from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the morning. We do not get much sleep. Coming Wednesday we will leave, direction Germany. We did more shopping. Jola & Hugo took us to a new supermarket. This is the second year we are celebrating our birthdays away from Home. Nevertheless it turned out very nice. Arranging a cake and a birthday card was not as difficult as it was for Liz when it was mine, but that is just being lucky when you are staying by Family. Up till now we had nice warm summer weather, very warm actually and to feel cooler we visited a skie hall close to Etten Leur. Something that reminded us on earlier days when we were doing this sport in Australia. To have this real Dutch feeling, you have to visit a store like Albert Hein and close to that a Market.
