family together
We had wonderful weather the few days we were in Holland. It gave us the opportunity to see a little place called Woudrichem. It is one of the defence places called the water linie It is ringed by dykes and walls. and it dates from around the 1500 hundreds. Very interesting place. Could make nice photos there. We walked through the small place and had something to eat. Spending the whole afternoon there was no problem. So much to see you run out of time. Extremely nice weather that evening we could sit outside with a drink and talk about all sorts and that is what you do with Family you have not seen for a few years. Next few days were for repacking and washing, but on Sunday we celebrated Hugo's birthday. Nice to have your sister on your birthday does not happen very often. Later the whole family arrived for a few drinks and a out eatery in the Bali restaurant in Breda. That was superb a nice Indonesian rice table. with all the small plates with spicy food we all liked. That took care of the evening. We went passed the place of Esther for a last drink. Back home we saw Australia lose from Norway. The Aussies could not take penalties. It was also the last day of our stay at Jola & Hugo. WE left on the Monday for Ghent, not that far awy for the first day. We left at 1 p.m.and it took not long to land in the first file. Not that far to drive and arrived early enough time for a walk and a look. We had to find something to eat as well. We stopped at a place for a beer and talked to a few people there. We found out that Ghent was a student town the second biggest in Belgium. They had finished their exams and were partying and hanging around cafe's. We stayed in that area to have a meal that turned out Chinese and was very good. back at our rest place we had a shower and hit the bed very soon. We both tired from the drive and walk. Had a good breakfast next day strong enough for a walk into town and see some of the city of Ghent. Got lots of old places. Very busy special with kids that have started their school holidays. Hugo's garden
around we saw this castle that belonged to the Counts of Flaanderen. For 15 Euro we could see the inside. Was well worth it for with the Audio supplied with the ticket you had the whole story of how this castle was build as well as the history, that dates beck to Karel de Groote that was before the 1500 of there about. Anyway we enjoyed the visit. It turned out a full day. We had a hamburger in town called a Kentucky hamburger very tasty washed away with a small beer Liz has alcohol free, she starts to like that. Takes us to the end of our visit to Ghent. Up to Rouen where we were before several years ago. Till than :L
