Friday 30th May 2014 What a difference a good night's sleep makes. We both awoke at an early hour (0530) to the sound of roosters crowing, pigeons cooing and cuckoos cukooing. By just after 0700 we were down in the dining area for breakfast, the staff just finishing setting it up. Not only did they have muesli and yoghurt, they actually had a fairly decent coffee too. Apart from the ubiquitous cheese and meat they also had a huge bowl of cherries. We have seen several large cherry trees in the vicinity including one in the hotel grounds that was simply loaded with cherries. We took our time over breakfast and getting ready to go out but by about 1000 we went out to have a look at the huge Baroque chateau here. We found a ... read more

Monday 26th May 2014 As the shops were closed yesterday we were on the road by 0800 with only a cup of tea and half an apple each in our stomachs. It was a long climb to the Vranov Dam, the Greenways trail going over it. We only set a 30kms aim for today, to the wine town of Satov but Judy did notice that we would be climbing over 600m in total on this leg. For the first 13-14kms all we seemed to do was climb, albeit it was only steep in a few stops. Judy doesn't particularly like going down hills and when it is combined with either a potholed road or a dirt track she became even more concerned, walking down many long hills, much to Rags' disbelief. The first stop was in ... read more

Friday 23rd May 2014 Woke up to a fine day, no wind, and left Slavonice just after 0830. The first section was a bit of a slope, for about 3kms before flattening out, then going downhill. This pattern seemed to repeat itself all morning although Judy was finding it a little difficult. She used the electric motor a little more than Rags to compensate, he saved his battery in case hers ran out. An early morning tea at Rancirov, about 10kms out, was had, as we were both a little hungry. The roads we travelled on were narrow but mainly good, with very little traffic. We were travelling mainly through fields of barley and canola, with the occasional patch of forrest. We kept our eyes open for deer as there were warning signs for motorists, unfortunately ... read more

Tuesday 20th May 2014 Judy didn't sleep well last night, as she is little bit worried about getting back on the bike since her fall. The hand is still swollen but is going down. Because of that she was downstairs working in the dining room of the penzion just after 0500. Rags dozed for a while but he too got up early and started preparing for the day's ride. Kevin had written and suggested that we stop at Tucapy, about 25kms away, as they had some penzions either side of it. This way Judy wouldn't be under any pressure to ride a long distance and it would renew her confidence. After another yummy breakfast (love that muesli slice) we were off. The day was perfect, sun shining and no wind. Just outside of the town boundaries ... read more

12.00-kor indultunk Budapestről. Anyuhoz felmentünk előtte, elköszöntünk, s irány a három évvel ezelőtti cél, azaz Csehország, Dél-Morvaország. Első állomásunk ismét Breclav (magyarul Leventevár) volt, első fotónk, mit ad Isten, egy sörgyár előtt készült. Megtekintettük az austerlitzi emlékművet, itt verte tönkre Ferenc és Sándor császárokat a nagy Napóleon. A szomszédos faluban, Telnicén székely hősökre emlékeztet a buszmegálló mögötti kopjafa kompozíció. Este Brnoban sétáltunk.... read more

M July 1 – So today I began another trip. I must admit that I was having misgivings about this one. I never stay home and just relax, which is something I’ve always been bad at but desperately need. It would be great to spend time at home like a normal person, but when the time comes, I never think that way. In my mind, six weeks off means six weeks of travel, which I’m starting to realize is not necessarily normal for most people. So I am missing time at home again. Have I finished packing so I can be relaxed with my last day? Oh no. I had to spend another 90 minutes or more frantically trying on clothes and trying to decide what to bring. No matter how many trips I take, I ... read more

One week Done in Brno, Czech Republic! Days 35, 36, and 37 - Jan 16th, 17th and 18th: So it has been totally cool crashing with Nick, while he is at work during the days, I venture into the 20 Degree unknown, and when he gets back from work at night he shows me around for some Adventures. During the weekends we go on bigger adventures. I decided to mash up the past 3 Days into 1 Blog since I'm spending so much time here and not doing as much per day as my first month in Europe. One of the highlights has come from roaming around the city in the snow, just walking and winding up in random parks and cool places. One of which was stumbling into Park Luzanky. It was pretty Awesome, it ... read more

Hey Hey Hey and Things and Stuff! Day 34 in Europe - Brno, Czech Republic - Jan 15th, 2013: So I have been staying in this little town called Brno located in the Czech Republic for a few days now, staying with an Awesome friend from High School Nick Bunzli, who lives here and was nice enough to let me crash at his Flat with him for a week and a half. After running around Europe for 19 Hours a Day and getting into a new Country every 3/4 Days for over a Month, I thought it would be a nice change of pace to just relax, hangout and live like a local here and stay in one place for awhile. It is cool to just relax, and experience a new country in a slow relaxed ... read more

Ahoj, jak se mas! Day 32 - Brno, Czech Republic - Jan 13th, 2013: This Awesome Place shall be my home for the next week and a half. It is a non-tourist area, and being able to just chill and hangout without having to run around and see sights and just live like a local is a totally Awesome change of pace from the first half of my Journey. I've realized that I have been writting Novels in my Blogs, so I will keep this Blog short and Sweet and perhaps do the same to my next Blogs. After going to bed at 5AM last night/last morning, we used the morning to sleep in. Waking up at 12:30PM is the second longest I've slept-in on my Trip, and it took a while to get up. We ... read more
