I lay on my bed in my hotel room in Brno sipping on Fantas from the room's mini bar, watching a German Kareoke contest on Czech television and contemplating life as a business traveller. I contemplate other things. Is the women behind the reception trying to find her rich British ticket out? The length of her mini skirt hints at low self esteem, alterior motives and a possible textile shortage in the Czech Republic. It also suggests something about the hotels quality and reputation. The skirt length of the snobbish receptionist at the four star hotel I was turned away from hours ago was at least six inches longer. Zdravim Vas pratele Zitrkem se otevre nova kapitola nasich zivotu.Odletame do Jizni Ameriky. Pro nezasvecene upresnim trasu naseho letu. Odletame v 19-20 z Vidne, 20-40 dorazime do Frankfurt. Od 22-05 do 5-00 stravime noc smer Sao Paolo.Sona se rozhodla ze let prospi, coz v mem pripade a Pavola nepripada v uvahu.Zvlaste pokud bude piti zdarma. Hadam, ze s pisni na rtech a s poharkem v ruce efektivne stravime cas v letadle. Posledni prelet probehne v 16-00 smer Santa Cruz(Bolivie) - nas cil. Dorazime tam kolem 17-45 mistniho casu. Pernstejn Castle

Hey there! Today we, that being Gloria, Bethany, Christopher, and myself, went to Pernštejn castle. At 80 Kč it is a bit of a steep admission price. You have to pay 10 just to get into the area where you wait for the tour. Very bizarre. Thankfully Gloria asked for an English copy of what our tour guide was saying. We met a guy on the tour from Philly who was an interesting character. The castle had a fire in a storage area in April so some rebuilding is being done. The castle was begun around 1380's which is hard to imagine. What was interesting was to see the transitions from different periods, gothic to Roccoco. Okay, so today is pretty boring, but I'll tell ya' what i did anyhow. First I slept in as Gloria has been keeping us up watching StarGate episodes. Okay, we initiated it, but only because Gloria LOVES them so much she is always talking about it. They are actually pretty good and after tonight I just may be hooked myself. Being the neurotic personality that I am, I spent the morning making a list of things I wanted to do and then made a calendar for the remaining time and tried to fit everything in. Something is going to have to go, I just don't know what yet. There is more to do then can be scheduled. hey all, I made it to Brno late last night. I sleeped in until 10am! Yikes! I knew I had been running hard but didn't realize how hard. I stayed around Gloria's house all day. I did laundry. How WONDERFUL it is to have clean non-smelly clothes! I love it! I finally left the house at 7:30 and joined the old gang from church. Getting ready to leave

To be honest, I’ve been trying very hard to sum up my five days in the Czech Republic for you in a somewhat concise way and having a terrible time of it - I think this one's just gonna be long. Lenka (Czech), Pavel (Czech) and Agne (Lithuanian) were my travel companions on the nearly eight hour trip to Brno on Thursday morning the 12th. Agne and I were invited by Pavel over the long Pentecost weekend to come to his home and see a bit of another side of Europe.
