Cabin C327
seen from the door This morning we awoke to a day cruising at sea, on our 2-day cruise back to Florida. It was been a restful day to start winding down before our vacation is over. Today was another warm day with sunny skies but a brisk breeze in the morning. In the middle of the afternoon it started to rain and the sea got a bit choppy but not uncomfortable to sail – a little motion but not a problem. The rain seemed to come and go throughout the afternoon but it remained quite overcast and breezy even when it wasn’t raining. Certainly we have had wonderful weather for our whole vacation, and this is just a small inconvenience.
We went to the Horizon Court about 8:00 for breakfast and found that once again it wasn’t too crowded. The knitters group had their meeting early today so Janet wanted to get to Club-6 by 8:30. She had a nice time working on a new scarf and visiting with her friends again. David went around the ship taking a few pictures here and there. We noticed that by 8:30 most of the loungers on the upper decks (especially around the pool) all had towels

seen from the balcony on them from people trying to reserve them for later. This is frowned upon by the ship’s staff but people seemed to feel entitled anyway. Happily we were not trying to get into the “chair competition”.
Later in the morning David returned to the cabin and read some more of his book and then Janet returned and switched from knitting to needlework (too much “stuff” to take with her to the morning gathering). So we had a quiet and fairly restful morning.
About 11:45 Joyce called to see if we wanted to meet them for another Pub Lunch. We had decided to go to the Alfredo Pizzeria instead and they thought that was an even better idea – we had had Pub lunch earlier in the trip. They had been on quite a few cruises but had never been to Alfredo’s before. We had an enjoyable lunch and Janet was happy to see they had White Sangria as well as a Calzone. We ordered a large bottle to split and Joyce decided to try a small mug too. David had the Princes Specialty pizza, Jerry had Cheese, and Joyce had Hawaiian. Then we all got dessert (except Janet)

at Alfredo's Pizzeria of apple pie and tiramisu.
We went back to our cabin and watched a movie – Wonder Woman. It was an interesting movie and provided a nice quiet way to spend the afternoon. Janet has a couple of other movies she would like to see before we dock, but we’re not sure if there will be time or not. When the movie was over we had time to clean up some in preparation for the evening’s activities.
The evening events began with delivery of our plate of complimentary canopies. This time we selected the Poached Cocktail Prawns and the Grissini Wrapped with Cured Parma Ham. Again the servings are small but they are tasty. David had one of his remaining beers and Janet had a glass of iced tea. Then at 5:00 we went to the Vista Lounge for the Captain’s Reception for returning passengers. This was a few more appetizers and a couple of watered down drinks, while we listened to the usual “thank you” speech. They also announced the number of passengers in each category – 692 Platinum and 433 Elite. The 3 passengers with the highest number of days sailing on Princess were 866, 1307,

before the Captain's Reception and 1637 days.
About 5:40 we reported late to the dining room for our second/final formal dinner – no problem when the captain is who held everybody up. We had been all dressed in our fancy outfits for all these shenanigans, so we had to try not to spill anything on them. For our entrees, we both had the Surf & Turf, which was excellent. Jerry had the same but gave us his shrimps because he does not like seafood – it was nice of us to help him out. Janet did not want any dessert but David had to have the Princess Dream Love Boat at least once on this cruise (a chocolate mousse on a thin chocolate brownie and he added vanilla ice cream). On the way out of the dining room we got a waiter to take a picture of the four of us.
The Demings live in Minnesota and are Twins fans. We were talking to them about the Cardinals going to Minneapolis for a couple of games in May and we are toying with the idea of going up and meeting them. But it is early in the planning stage so we will
After Dinner
David, Janet, Joyce, Jerry have to see if that develops.
We were not especially interested in the stage show in the Princess Theater, so we are staying in tonight and decided to watch another movie – Churchill. This has been a nice restful day and tomorrow will be one more sea day before we end the cruise. Good night.
