I was tired and banged up but I figured that this shouldn't stop me from pressing on to Rio Dulce given that it was only about 2 hours away. I gave a North-Irish backpacker a ride to a turnoff where he was going to try to hitch a ride into a more remote part of Guatemala. I figure that he's probably dead by now judging by the condition of the road that he started down. I arrived in the chaos of Rio Dulce before noon and quickly decided that I should try to find a place to stay in the nearby hamlet of San Felipe where the helpful touts directed me to a cheap hotel with a secure place to park my car. we went to this amazing hotspring waterfall ..it was a bazaar convergence zone where the hotspring waterfall hit into another river, but ther river was cold and all the water at the base of the waterfall was cold so you swam under it and your head was hot but your body was freezing..there was really nice natural pools to, and clay. we did facials, and with simming from the hot to the cold so rapidly it was a cleanse!amazing! the next day we got up early and went to flores...it was a good trip. we ended up having to hang out in rio dulce for maney hours, our bus was 2 hours late, tipical. i like rio dulce there are lots of oranges there. so i am in flores now. we spent last night here, ... read more

this wekend we drove to this litttle surf town called el zonte on the west coast of el savador and OH MY GOD...i had no preconseptions of what the country had to offer since i really new nothing about it..and therefor thought it was dangerous...well all of latin america can be dangerous but then so can commercial drive! the community was solid there, and we were escourted by denny himself from dennys beach(the resort here) oh ya we are back now..its only a four hour drive.so going with denny was spectacular because we entered there with a level of respect.
