we went to this amazing hotspring waterfall ..it was a bazaar convergence zone where the hotspring waterfall hit into another river, but ther river was cold and all the water at the base of the waterfall was cold so you swam under it and your head was hot but your body was freezing..there was really nice natural pools to, and clay. we did facials, and with simming from the hot to the cold so rapidly it was a cleanse!amazing! the next day we got up early and went to flores...it was a good trip. we ended up having to hang out in rio dulce for maney hours, our bus was 2 hours late, tipical. i like rio dulce there are lots of oranges there. so i am in flores now. we spent last night here, ... read more

it is 6:30 in the morning and i am at the bus sttion in chetumal, the boardering mexican city to belize. i took the night bus from palenque...it was a good time! so there is a bus that leaves here to Cosumel at 8:30.. i was going to take it, but duarring this current internet session i received an e-mail from a friend. he is in tulum and will be here for 12o'clock. i find it funny that i came so far from home and the place i am enjoying the most is the location with the most similarities minus the snow. i have had some great little adventures in the last week, staying in san cristobal for the most of it. although I went to palenque for 2 nights. i was going to go to tulum, because it is warm there but i found myself drawn back here. As well i went to cañon de la sol, and several waterfalls; agua azul, agua clara, & misol-ha. They were amazing! on the day that i went to the cañon i accidentaly left my camera on the bus, Oh My God!! i freaked out and questioned what i would do with out it....it felt like the end of the world! ... read more

hello all, wow... my worst false preconception of coming south was that is would be tropical hot, na that is not the case. here in the mountains we (being me and all the other travelers) are wearing beanies, scarves, gloves, wool sweaters...the whole nine. well with that said i think as far as mexico goes this is my favorite place yet. i actually like the chill in the air, it kinda reminds me of home. so getting here was a gorgeous drive although because of zapitista uprising it took closer to 17 hours verses the predicted 13. it was long and seaing all the rebels on the side of the road with there baliclavas and woldin sticks was quite a trip. initially i was quite startled but then i looked arould and nobody else was and ... read more

merida is the capital city of the yucatan, it is a beautiful colonial city. last night i went dancing in the streets there was live music everywhere. during my evening i ended up befriending a rastafarian mexican, cool kid. this morning after enjoyning my continental breakfast of toast and coffee at my hostel, i went and met my new friend at the plaza grande. basicaly the city center where there are permanent venders and people everywhere. from there we took a bus out of the city to a little town called tixkokob. it is known for all the hammacas that are made there. so we ventured into town and met a resedent that took us home with him and i got to learn the basics of making a yucatan hammock and had the opportunity weave a ... read more
