Day 47- went to Sheraton hotel and got chased by a man with towels. Adrian knocked on for Natalie to see if she was playin...but she wasnt. Spent the day at Jennys pool on cable beach. Nat got on the Kaliks beer back at the apartment in the evening and listened to badboi rap. Day 48- went to Exuma island for the day. Most amazing views and beaches we have ever seen. Went snorkeling in the middle of the ocean. That first moment that we jumped into the sea we were in hysterics, nat didnt know how to snorkel, amelia didnt know how to use her flippers and loz couldnt breathe from laughing. Fed sharks and iguanas. Amelias bro Joe arrived in Nassau at night.... read more

Woke up today and had some breakfast. Around 11am, we got a ride from Keith to the dock in Georgetown. We only had about a 10 minute wait until the water taxi departed for Stocking Island. The boat ride was about 5 to 7 minutes through a channel of beautiful aqua blue water. The round trip fare for the water taxi is $12 per person. When we arrived, the man asked us when we would like to return and we told him 4pm. We immediately went into the water for some snorkeling. We were at Chat 'N' Chill, which is a little beachfront bar and grill. The water was choppy today and the beach here had a real steep drop off so it was not that exciting. Went out and got some food after an hour ... read more

We find it hard to believe that the last entry to our Blog was December 2010 in Port Lucaya. So much has happened since then. The two big events were, I had a small stroke (totally recovered), and spent some time back in Canada, and the other event was we bought a houseboat in George Town Bahamas. Here’s a summary of our winter. We left Port Lucaya on December 15th, about 11:00am and sailed directly to Nassau. Our route took us from Lucaya to Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Ship Island) down the Berry chain of Islands, then across to Nassau, arriving at daybreak the next morning. In Nassau we stayed at Harbor Central Marina until December 23rd, when our son Steven and his fiancée Audrey arrived. We moved over to Atlantis Marina ,and treated them to ... read more

Mercredi le 26 ... read more

It’s almost the end of January, and we feel like we are just getting started on our winter cruising. About Time, our Beneteau First 405 has spent more time at dock this year than other years, and we have certainly enjoyed the amenities that dock life offers. Water , electricity, cable tv , swimming pools, hot tubs, have been nice, but the trip down to Exuma reinforces that this is what we like best! Yes….. Winter again in Paradise! We spent 2 really nice months at the Ocean Reef Yacht Club and Resort, in Port Lucaya, Freeport this year, starting Nov 18th. Some cruising friends had recommended the Ocean Reef as a very nice, safe place to stay at dock, and within our budget. It proved to be all of that, plus we met some ... read more

Christmas is over, and as I’m writing this, it’s New Years Eve. We’re anchored in Elizabeth Harbour just off of Stocking Island, and have been enjoying the holiday season here, with our family. Steven arrived on December 20, Dawn Paul and Ella on December 22. It has been a wonderful holiday, (even if the boat is a little crowded), and we know we are just about the luckiest people in the world! In our last blog we were half way down the Exumas, in the Bahamas Land and Sea Park. We got stuck there a little longer than we had hoped, and we were starting to sweat it , that we wouldn’t get to Georgetown when Steven arrived. Finally on December 11th, with good weather we left Wardwick Wells, with the intention of stopping at Blackpoint, ... read more

Here we are. Anchored close to Chat & Chill, beach, resort. Resort has no wifi this year. Will have to go into town for internet. We stopped on the way from Nassau at Norman's. Still traveling with Sea Dancer. Then stopped at Big Majors, to find the island full of pigs. They actually go in the water, Boats come from Staniel Cay to feed them. Wonder who owns them? Then we went another 5 miles to Black Point, had dinner at Lorraines. There is 3 of the original boats, Scott Free with Lois and George and Sea Dancer with Karen and Ron, and of course us. Then Stocking Island. ... read more
