I changed my insurance policy to cover me for only 6 months per year in the USA (maybe that makes me half an Ex-Pat?) I figured I have been traveling outside the US for more than 6 months the last 4 [View Full Entry]

ojalá que ustedes esten bien OK, so it has been a few months since my last Blog. This was partly do to the fact that the Internet in Bolivia is not very fast. It took me about 15 hours to load the fotos for this blog. Also, part of the reason is that I am lazy. I have completed my Spanish studies in Sucre, Bolivia and I will be going to Peru in about a week. I will miss Sucre, it is a nice city, with friendly people, good food and great weather and the prices are just down right [View Full Entry]

Ok, So I am a Little behind in my Blogs. what´s new - right?. As I said or meant to say in my last blog is that i flew from Ushuia in the south of Argentina to Buenos Aires. I spent a week or so in Buenos Aires eating good steaks and drinking good cheap wine. I was starting to get stuck (ok, lazy). I did escape for a few days and I went to Uruguay with Dave from Scotland. We took a ferry across the river From BA to Colonia Uruguay and spent the night there. The next day we [View Full Entry]

Okay, so I have been gone for almost a month and I haven't posted a blog yet. For those of you receiving one of these for the first time, welcome. For a quick recap, I left The US on Tuesday, the 11th of April. On the 10th of April I sold the last of my stuff, my mountain bike and my car - fly girl. I only got $150 for fly girl!!! That night I went to a Utah jazz basketball game with my friend Dex. I got free tickets from work - the tickets had a list price of [View Full Entry]

Hola mis amigos y familia - I hope everyone is well Well it has been a little while since my last blog so I wanted to update everyone on what is going on out here in my neck of the woods. The season here is coming to an end quickly. I survived another PIB "invasion" - People in Black, the people who come in for the Sundance film festival ( click here for the full size pictures). This festival i only drove around a few stars: scarlet johansen, Dennis hopper, Bruce Hornsby ... none of which tipped!!! Today I am suppose [View Full Entry]

I took a greyhound bus (the last time i will do that) from Duluth Minnesota to salt lake city. The trip ended up taking about 53 hours. Not all of it was on the bus since salt lake is only about 22 hour drive from Duluth. In Kansas city , Kansas, the bus to Denver was full so [View Full Entry]

i arrived in Ecuador on the 17th of September. i was in Mancora, Peru for a few days for a little sun and beach time. On my way to Ecuador, i hopped on a bus that was coming from the amazon and i got the typical response, look a gringo. The people were nice and i had a nice chat. When i got off the bus the driver only charged me $1 for a two hour ride. But this is the point where things changed. I was surrounded by taxi and moto taxi drivers all telling me what i needed to [View Full Entry]

machu picchu!!!! South America » Peru » Cusco » Machu Picchu
alright, I did the one thing that everyone does - machu picchu yesterday. i must admit, it was a nice place, unbelievable views. though i think tikal in Guatemala is more grand. well maybe, ah who knows. ok here is how it went. machu picchu is expensive, no and or buts about it. the train from cusco is $69, so we took a bus from cusco to orubamba (sp) for $2 and then took the train from there to agua calientes, the starting point for machu picchu. you cant get to auga calientes by bus. ok, there were seven of us [View Full Entry]
