As always, I hope all is well with you and yours. hmm, it seems like i disappeared for a while, well I am back (until I disappear again)! I am currently in Vietnam, Hanoi to be exact, where I will be for a few days resting and catching up on things before I head North towards the Chinese border. I just spent a month traveling in Laos, mostly in the North and mostly by boat. i also did several "treks" to hill tribe villages. I will try to "piece" together a few different blogs to tell you about the experience. Hopefully, [View Full Entry]

Hi every one. A quick happy birthday wish for my mom who turned 70 this week. I can't believe she had me when she was 45 years old (JK). Welcome all you newbies to my travelblog. Just a quick update on what is going on over here in Asia. I left chaing mae and went to Bangkok a little while back to take a landmark forum course. After the course I did a little traveling and took a tacky tour out of Bangkok to: the floating market, the bridge over the river kwai and tiger temple (see photos). I left [View Full Entry]

well let me first tell you what happened (Don't worry mom, I am ok). I was walking to get some lunch and in order to cross the street i needed to get to a crosswalk with a traffic light. i was walking on the road because the sidewalk had been demolished (on purpose) the traffic was a little too close for my liking so i stepped onto where the sidewalk used to be and onto a spiked piece of rebar about a 1/4 of an inch thick and luckily maybe 4 inches long. It was too late and as my body [View Full Entry]

As always I hope everyone is doing well For me, back to Burma tomorrow. Wow, as often happens I have ended up over staying here in Chiang mai and will be heading back to Mae Sai tomorrow and then "Burma" the next day to extend my visa so I can come back to Thailand. I know in my last blog I said that I would probably go to Cambodia next but I am going to wait another month when the weather is a little "cooler" to go there. I hope to tour around North Esat Thailand before heading to Bangkok to [View Full Entry]

Ok, so I was in Burma for just a day to renew my Thailand visa but i am sure I will be having many more Blogs from Thailand and I probably won't make it back to Burma (though I would like to). Burma was kind of nice, but I only experienced a border town. Burma is much poorer than Thailand and you know it the minute you cross the bridge into Burma (i know it is called myanamar now but the people are still Burmese). But this is nice, fewer tourist, more raw and more "real" than some places. I wished [View Full Entry]

Well, it has been an interesting 24 hours (as most of them are). First, I found out that I have lost my last 5 travelblog stories due to a systems crash (but this is my fault for not backing them up). Good news is I think most of the photos are still there (except for the ones i was going to send with this blog), just the text is gone. hey it is getting better, i think i may be able to find the text since I write by blogs in Gmail, and gmail doesn't delete anything unless I tell it [View Full Entry]

Well I am back in the good ole USA. I have been here now for a little over three weeks, during which time I have visited with family and friends (which is always good) and ate a lot of good pizzas (which isn't good with spedo season just around the corner)! I have replaced my laptop which was stolen, bought a few new lenses, and now I am ready to hit the road again. For this leg of my around the world journey, I will be traveling (or trying to) travel in the US. This won't be easy since I [View Full Entry]

Well It is over, at least the south America leg of this journey we call life. After spending 13 months in South America I flew back to the states yesterday and I am currently in the Chicago area (special thanks go out to my buddy Robbie Hopkins for picking me up at the airport) While sitting in the airport in Miami I realized that now: I am Homeless, car less, jobless .... Ok, on to another topic, I do have some new photos from pucallpa which is a town in the jungle of Peru. There is a "tribe" that lives [View Full Entry]

this will probably be the last blog until i get back to the USA. I went to the upper amazon basin for a few days and just returned to lima this morning to take a bus deeper into the amazon, to pullcalpa so i will cross over the Andes twice in a 24 hour period. As I said in my last blog I will be back in the Chicago area on the 22nd of May. While in the La Merced area I went with a "guide" by moto taxi, auto, minibus and truck to an indian village. after a one [View Full Entry]
