Hi Everyone! We have spent the last week travelling around Morocco and Spain. We took an overnight ferry from Malaga to Melilla (a Spanish enclave in Morocco). After spending a night there we headed down south into Morocco. The culture shock just walking through the border was amazing from the dirt roads to the traditional Muslim clothing. We took a train from a random deserted town to Casablanca, the train took 10hrs it was painfully slow. Luckily we arrived alte at night and could get a really cheap hotel. Casablanca certainly wasnt a city to rave about. It was big and dirty. Wlaking down the street we got stared at like some sort of zoo animals and felt pretty uncomfortable. We got another train to Marrakesh which was alot nicer, we didnt get to see much ... read more

Hola Amigos! We took a flight out of London on Thursday night to Alicante (Spain). Expecting a burst of summer we stepped off the plane and had to put on jackets and beanies. We spent our first night in Alicante and the following day was black friday. Subsequenly not much in the town was open. We hunted around for a deal to get to the south of Spain (Malaga) however everything was out of our very limited price range so we decided to give hitchiking a go! 2 days and 7 rides later we arrived. Hard work and very cold! The transport ranged from a BMW to a family campervan with a crazy nana. Not many people spoke a word of english. It certainly was an experience on its own...not sure if we would advise anyone ... read more

Today we had an exciting day in London! We had to blog because we took so many photos.... We headed out this morning through Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace, after having a look there we jumped on a tube to meet Raj at the Olympic village. It was very much a work in progress, however was amazing to see and we look forward to seeing the final village in 2012. We had a delicious curry in Brick Lane for lunch then went to pick up our passports this afternoon from the embassy and conviently they had'nt told us they closed at 3, so we will have to head back there tomorrow. It took us about 2hours to walk back to Raj's house and we stopped at various interesting sights along the way. Enjoy the pics, Love ... read more

It sure has been a while since we last blogged...sorry! After Gaston and Katy let us use their car from Bath we have been adventuring in south west england for the last week. We braved the cold for a few nights in Cornwall and slept in our tent at last. We happened to be the only people crazy enough to tent, we suspect in the whole of England at this time. After two nights of no sleep we retreated to a bed and breakfast for a night. In these three days we managed to travel down (and back up) the south-west coasts of England. On Friday we went to visit Andy and Kate in Wimbourn. We had a great few days being taken out to see Stonehenge, an amazing cathedral, Corfe Castle ruins and a smugglers ... read more

Since we last blogged in Cambridge we spent a few more days in Huntingdon with Ray and Hillary then went into London yesterday. As we got off the train at Kings Cross first stop was the NZ embassy. We caught the underground there! The people at the embassy were far from helpful and we left with no passports at all + 2 weeks in England till we get new ones! After leaving the embassy we checked out accommodation on the internet and couldnt find anything less than $200nz for the weekend. Last minute we called some rallys in Bath and headed here on the next train out. Luckily they were happy to have us! Today we spent the morning in Bath town, we window shopped the tourists sights as they were sooo expensive to get into. ... read more

So here we are. 35 hour flight, stuck in Bangladesh airport for 10hrs and no in-flight entertainment we arrived in London yesterday. It still seems unreal. Ray and Hillary (some rallys) picked us up from Heathrow yesterday and it took about 1.5hrs (well it should have if we didnt get lost!) to get to there house in a small village north of London. Its everything you would imagine England to be like here, brick housing, nice cars, freezing cold and of course expensive! Its such a change from South East Asia, its great not being stared at as we walk down the street. Except for Kris having food poisioning from the plane so far we love it. Today we took a bus from Ray and Hillarys' to Cambridge, we have been looking round the shops and ... read more

Yes we hate to admit it...were going to London! Its actually pretty exciting...and scary. After the whole passport/India dilemma/ figuring out we are running out of money after realizing how much it was going to cost to get to Turkey and Home things have taken a turn. Tomorrow we are getting on a plane to London, there we will stay with some rallys and get out passports sorted. We are hoping to find some work for a month or 2 but since unemployment has hit over 2 million not sure how easy thats going to be. We will do our best though! We have been back in Bangkok the last few days relaxing, going to the gym and eating off the street. Strange feeling, sad to be leaving the madness of South East Asia, and really ... read more

Well...once again no photos! We spent the last four days trying ot sort out temporary travel documents, visas, money, its alot harder than we thought. We had planned to go to India and get our new passports from Delhi...however after spending all of today in consulates we found out our visa for Thailand is going to run out before we can recieve a visa for India. Its so rediculous. We basically are looking at a map for NZ consulates/places we can get into on our temp passports and trying to decide where to go. It sounds fun, but its not and everything costs a fortune! Tonight we splashed out on accomodation because we had a s**t day and couldnt be bothered lugging our stupid packs round any longer! :) Bonus is the place has a great ... read more

Wow the last 24hours sure has been interesting... Yesterday morning as we were boarding a ferry from Ko Samui to get to Bangkok, Kris's small backpack was stolen! It would have been great if this had of been his big backpack, however the small one contained pretty much every valuable item we own. (hence why we have no photos on this blog) All up it was about $5000nz worth of stuff...good times! We were left with about $50nz and have spent the last day trying to sort out money, insurance and passports. Thank god we have just been able to access some money, and have got some go-foward with the insurance company. Passports will take 12 days to get here, we only have a visa for another 5 days! The NZ embassy should be able to ... read more

On Tuesday night we witnessed a full moon party in Koh Phanang. The whole Hat Rin beach was crowded with thousands of people of all different ages and nationalities. There were different DJs playing along the beach and buckets of alcohol being sold by the thousands! Drugs were rife. Being the nanas we are we headed for bed about 12. We could'nt believe our eyes at 8am the next morning the party was still raging. We tried our luck at Haviana (jandle) hunting along the beach but couldnt find a pair! On Wednesday morning we headed to the pier to catch the 9.30 ferry to Koh Samui, it turned out it didn't actually go till 11. The ferry only took 20mins and we got a free transfer to Hat Lamai beach. We tried our luck lugging ... read more
