Simmo's
I was worried when you mentioned Simmo's closing down. The real Simmo's is just out of Dunsborough. When we lived down there they had proposed a redevelopment of the foreshore. It sadly needs it. That little cafe used to be closed at the oddest times during the weekend and school holidays. Hopefullly they will build something that caters to the tourist better.

Kangaroojacks 800th Blog
Hi Guys, Hope you are both well, yes wow what a body of work and it has been great fun doing it, I just hope we have conveyed how amazing Australia is. As I type this, we are sitting in Roobie, the rain is lashing down outside, we are waiting for the kettle to boil and we are both typing. Hey, it would be great if you would type us an update, is Tony still riding, are you both working, what's Patsy and Clive and Zippy doing and so on, I would love to have that connection. Thinking about you both I just had a pang of home sickness. Our love to you both. Andy

Mental images! ....
Streaker!! And... just how good are you at walking on water, Andy? Bet you would have made a good imitation if a shark had been spotted - bits and all! :) Went shark cage diving in South Africa a few years ago which is definitely the closest I ever want to get to one otherwise, like crocodiles, have decided that, if one wants to get me, it's going to have to come through the tap! :) Luv to both, J xoxox

Hi Guys, Thanks for your comments and yes, we need to keep a spare pair of swimmers in the truck, just so I don't scare the marine wildlife. Our love to you both Kj

Regans ford
Hi. Envious of your camping adventures. We hope to get out camping pretty soon. Our trailer in getting some items added and repaired. We picked in up in late October last year and haven't had a chance to use it. The dealers maintenance/sales building had just burned down and not everything was able to be put in the trailer. AND it was a cold and windy day. But more importantly, we have been to Regans Ford. Not free camping, but a lovely little caravan park there. Just an overnight stay. I love it when I find places you are visiting (or even referencing) that we have been to. Take Care.

Familiar Rones
Still trying to come up with something deep and meaningful - not really up for it after three days of ultrasounding sheep and having my hand stuck up the nether regions of each and every one of them!!

800th Blog ...
Hi KJ, I don't know how you managed it either - I know the trouble I have when on the move. It is a momentous task and certainly a love job but, as we all know and say ... it's the comments people leave from those who take the time and trouble to do so, that encourages us and keeps us going. I sometimes think, when I'm tired and plugging away .. "is anybody really interested in this stuff I'm writing and actually reading it?" then, you'll get a comment or two and suddenly, all is right with the world and off we go again. :) I must confess to having fallen asleep over the keyboard more than once, whilst working on the latest edition that we put our heart and soul into. Thanks too, for your concern. Yes, Sydney has had a wild ride weather-wise these last few days but, thankfully, our fam have all come through unscathed. Once again, HUGE congratulations on your marvelous achievement and, what a great record of your adventures and now, I only have one more question ... when does the book come out? :) Love to you both, J xx

Andy & Caroline, Congrats on the 800th blog as well as taking that intrepid first step of leaving everything behind and starting in a new country! It can sound very romantic and conjure idyllic images, but the reality can be much more challenging, especially when getting a new citizenship -- you both did it! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us~~ :-)

Kangaroojack's 800th Blog
Morning Michelle, Thanks for the comments, Firstly may I ask where you re in the world, "wow" what an amazing thing to say. Thinking back on it now, we never new how it would turn out, at the time I don't think we even found it terrifying, we just loved the thought of this newly found freedom in a country where this massive country was taken for granted. When we drove completely around Australia we had had no previous experience and sometimes wonder how we didn't get bitten by a snake or eaten by a crocodile. What gave me the greatest pleasure was to see how Caroline just took on this adventure and blossomed in the process, going from a city girl to someone who was happy to role up her sleeves to get on with it. Some of the times have been tough, but the amazing people along our journey picked us up and dusted us off. My best regards Andy

Can't believe it has been so long
Where does the time go? Seems like only yesterday that I started to "follow" your blog. Agree with Dave. That photo captures how I think of you two. How come I've been here for forty years and still don't have citizenship? Typing this in the middle of a cat 2 cyclone. The house is rated for a cat 3 but it is still shaking. Never heard such a roar from the wind. Like standing on a railway station while a train goes through at full speed. Take care, John
