Book Did you know that you can have your blog made into a book? I just printed mine on regular copy paper and it turned out OK. Even the pictures.
But you can have them do it professionally!!
As usual, a tremenous job on the blog. Great to hear of the large numbers of hits. It is a testament to your writing.
Memories Hi there, just a quick message to say I'm enjoying reading your blogs on Qld. The Maroochydore blog in particular has brought back some memories, of when I was a backpacker staying at the local YHA in the early 1990s. I had free accommodation as I was cleaning in the evenings and picking ginger, usually at farms near Yandina, during the day. Good times! I used to fish from the bridge in your picture... . Anyway, thanks for some entertaining blogs and I'm enjoying travelling vicariously through you.
Cheers,
Andy
Cor, some mileage. I like the map photo. What a big country Australia is. I left stuff in Sydney ten years ago, with this naive idea that I'd whizz round the "island". Not a chance. I flew out of Perth; the bags are still in Sydney!
It's a shame you missed out Wave Rock, Albany, beautiful Esperance etc. in WA...but you just can't do everything!
And thank you, Mrs. Kangaroojack, for reading him my blog!
Platypus Hi Karen, thanks for your lovely message, we were surprised too when we first heard about the male being venemous. I will check out the bbc web address that you note.
A whole year, amazing really, I wonder where the time has gone, yet some days we were out there travelling alone time went so slowly.
Miss you very much, take care

Top 5 A hard taskmaster Jane! Of course we accept that challenge and will do the top 5 for you, I expect mine will vary from Andy's. We will try to give it some thought in next couple of days, but maybe when we are back on our long journey south, it will help us pass the time......
Thanks for sticking with us on our journey, I think I will have trouble settling down, Andy wants to go round again, would be nice but we have to earn a bit of money first! It is great writing when we know so many people enjoy reading.
Thanks
Caroline
Christmas Already Hi Susan, thanks for your message, we are planning our journey down at the moment, would be great to swing by ACT for a bottle of vino, depends on timescales and route. I may try to get some contract work there while Andy helps on the farm. Really Looking forward to seeing you and thrilled to be spending christmas with all of you on the farm.
Take care

Top 5 please :) You are not done yet. We need the top 5. Best National Park, Best beach, best town, best kept secret and best kodak moment. that will have your thinking caps on. Glad you enjoyed the wildlife. I think you may have trouble settling down, gets addictive and life is never the same again. Thanks for keeping us strangers updated and amused on your adventures and those wonderful photos.
thanks Hi Kangaroojack, Thanks for the fantastic blog I have really enjoyed reading about you adventures through "my home" Australia. Keep up the good work, and drive safely. Sandra
Congratulations What a wonderful achievement - I'll bet you never imagined you would do so much and see so much in a year. Not only have you enjoyed it but we have enjoyed it along with you. Another go around would be great for us and I guess you as well but that is a big ask! Love Helen
Another message.. ...from me! Still reading your blogs. Actually, I went back and read them all from the beginning, I am hooked! I hope the next blog isn't your last one, it would be great to know where you are going to live and how your day to day life is post - travel! Still (mega) jealous and can't wait to get out there myself one day, but reading where you've been and what you've done has given me a lot of things to think about for when I start planning my own adventure. :-)
Platypus How lovely for you to see platypus - they look so extraordinary yet cute at the same time. There is a lovely little video from the BBC - I remember watching it. I was surprised that the male was venomous.

Wow nearly away a whole year now - you'll have to mark that in some special way.
Love Karenx
What a marathon Hey guys have just spent the last hour catching up on all your exciting adventures!! Thanks for my early morning skype for my birthday. My kinder kids were pretty feral but Sam our housemate cooked a beautiful roast so that made up for it. Josh managed to pick the winner in the Melbourne Cup so bagged himself $33. Keep up the great blogging and enjoy every second. Talk to you soon Trueys xo
Jet Set Hi Slaz, glad our blog caught your eye, Australia is fab, we can only hope that our writing and photos do this country some justice!! Good luck with your adventures.

Funny you should mention it! We've loved using our waterproof casing for our camera, we bought it in Cairns and have used it continously.....until Monday that is! It sprang a leak .... so guess what, camera ruined! Nevermind, it's been awesome while it worked and we've loved getting the memories that we have managed to get. Luckily we'd captured all the snorkelling and marine life we wanted to prior to the leak (the tiniest of holes) and we'll get another one in Perth - along with the new camera!!!
Good job it wasn't the Canon!
All our love to you both

CASSOWARY You lucky, lucky folks. Seeing the elusive Cassowary. We actually saw a dad and a baby and didn't get a picture. We figured that we would see scores of them. WRONG.
Take care.
Back in the November of 2008, we embarked on an adventure that would take us out of everything that we were so familiar with, a comfortable life in the UK, friends, family and the English countryside. Some call it brave, others thought that we would be back, but above all, most people helped us embrace the challenge that lay ahead of us.
Weary of corporate life, we emigrated to Australia, with the notion of buying a 4 wheel drive and camper trailer and a 12 month trip to explore our adopted country, Not an easy thing to do as we had to start from scratch, simple things like knife, fork, s... full info
