Up Up and Away!
Hi guys - It's Sarah's Mum here - it's been great to read your adventures this weekend with the Wallaby Wanderers. We love balloon fiestas and often visit the Bristol one and in fact I have been lucky enough to take to the air during the fiesta which was awesome. Carry on having fun! Jan K xx

Hi Kangaroojack, My name is Virginie, I'm a 26 year old French travelmaniac (not in a criminal way of course) I'm one of your faithfull blog reader, I found out about travelblog as i was searching the net for some infos on Australia as my hub & I, are going to Os for 10 weeks in August, we're gonna do Cairns-Melbourne in a camper, and backpacking towards the end. Anyway, when I was reading a forum about where to go and what to do in Oz, as I wanted some advice on going in the Outback, someone was recommending your blog to someone else saying that you had done most of what could be done and your blog was great and full of insight. So I started reading it, from the start, and I'm working my way up (thank God your not blogging every day now I would never be able to catch up!) Many times I felt like sending you a comment, but I never did cause I thought you problably had a ton of mail to read from perfect stangers that you problably didn't give a crap about... But after reading, this entry "six months after" day 181, May 07th 2009, I thought Why nooooot... Anyway I just want to say I loooove your blog!!!!! It's addictive, and giving me lots of ideas about what we want to do once we will be there. For example, trying to spot wildlife, I never really gave a thought to the fact that Australia is such a great place to see some wildlife, you just take for granted that it's the land of the kangaroos... but reading your experience, you can really feel your love for the wildlife, it's inspiring. I don't want to take to much of your time, especially as you are back to work and probably "have other cats to whip" (it's a french saying= your busy). Anyway i'll keep you posted on the advancement of our trip planning, now if you'll excuse me I have another entry of Kangaroojack's exceptional adventure to read about. Keep up the good spirit!!!!!!!! Virginie Leach-Morel

Kangaroo
Hi Trueys, I remember you saying about your beach kangaroo's in WA, pity I have not been at the right place at the right time, I did not even see any at Cape Hillsborough! We will head back to WA at some point to explore that bottom corner that we missed and then perhaps the Gibb River Road, but all in good time. kj

Reflections
Hi Jo, it was such a beautiful morning, the conditions were just a photographers dream, colours, the first hour of the day and water..... a great combination. I have always wanted a ride in a balloon too, but have never had the opportunity..... we see balloons nearly every day in Canberra at the moment, the sight is amazing. Keep an eye out for our next blog..... you may see something interesting again! Caroline

Something I've always wanted to do is go for a ride in one of these :-) Specially liked your 'balloon reflection' photos.

Canberra
Hi John, Thanks for the message, would be great to see you, I 'm sure we will some how as we are so close. Our best regards to you and Sylvia. The Blog has had to slow down a bit as we are working, but it is still trickling along. Andy & Caroline

Glad you guys have met up again.
It has been exhausting to keep up with both of your blogs. I don't know how you can be so dedicated to keeping it updated daily. Mine always seems to peter out as I get involved in the travelling and then it gets too difficult to catch up. Might be in Canberra myself in a few weeks. If you're still around and it's convenient, I'll come and say hello. John.

Beach Kangaroo
Hey guys sounds like you had some lovely relaxing days away. We got some great shots of kangaroos on the beach all the way over in W.A. at Lucky Bay, Cape Le Grand about 50ks from Esperance. So if you go around again theres a guaranteed shot for the scrapbook. Enjoy your 4 day working week, talk to you soon Trueys

The Link
Hi Barnaby, please send the link through, we would love to read what you have done. Are you at home now or still on tour

No washing up for kangaroos?! This is my sort of humour.. Thanks for the comments - they are always appreciated. Actually, I AM earning money as a writer now - two articles at £600 each in a UK transport magazine, and I've written for some online publications too. Articles are never as much fun to write as the blog, though! If you're interested, I can send you the links to the online stuff. There'll be no Namibian, Wrecker Jon or underpants, though, I'm afraid..

Hi from EvaKool Fridges Mate?
Hi guys, we are at home. Great to see you are still enjoying the good life, unlike some. We both miss the road like crazy. It has not stopped raining since we got home so the camper has been feeling neglected. But for the important stuff, how is the new fridge going and have you managed to find time to catch a fish yet? It is great reading your blog, it takes us back to the way we lived... Ahh the good Life........

Hi Andy and Caroline, I think I told you that my cousin Les has a hot air balloon and will be down for the balloon festival. If you give James a ring he will probably know what is happening as Les was going to ring him. They sometimes need people to help chase the balloon and pick them up when they land. You may also get a short trip but can't guarantee that. Anyway it is worth a ring. Love Helen

Great going
You're settling into the working / travelling routine very well. It's what we dream about ... although we're still in the middle of Dream Option A at the moment so we won't dare complain! As I type we are on the ferry coming back from Tasmania - we have had a stunning trip. We're looking forward to seeing you both, looks like we've got the issues with the laptop ironed out .... fingers crossed, so hope to catch you on Skype soon. Lots of love WW x x x

Ha ha! I just saw the number plate. Thanks so much for the mention - my eyes lit up! To be honest, I've got rather behind with your adventures - I can only apologise.. As for touring, I've been at home since November, trying to become a travel writer - with a little bit of success. It's nice to be published for money, but I've got a long way still to go. So yes, I'll be out touring again soon to pay the bills! Metallica go out on a European leg in April (Nambian and I will head out to Moscow for that one), and then we swap onto AC/DC and U2 again. That seems to take us up to October again - agh, another year gone! Great you're still blogging. And thanks again Andy and Caroline..

Things we never thought we would buy in Australia
We had lots of beautiful rain - sorry about your wet weekend. 50 mls at Woodstock, 75 at Hazeldeen and 90 at Yileena. Lots of washed over fences and we had to pull the pump out of the big dam in a hurry once again. We are pumping out of the creek into the dam at the moment but it is slowing down so will have to stop soon. Jason is on the tractor already sowing some green feed for the sheep. All dams at Rockely, Hazeldeen etc. and Yileena except the big one below the woolshed - are full. The ones here haven't filled up much as we didn't get the heavy rain that we got elsewhere. I had to mow the lawn this morning - it is grtowing so fast I nearly need to do it again. Hope you soon dry out. Love Helen

Don't you just love how Oz likes to keep you on your toes? Who'd have thought it could rain so much in SUMMER. Pity it wasn't doing it in Victoria though, they're in draught. Is Canberra in draught? I probably should know that. :p I've been wanting to see that movie too. Glad to know you enjoyed it. First opinion I've heard about it. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

That the term 'Dongle' is the most confusing technilogical term. The things you learn when watching 8 out of 10 cats! lol. Glad the work is going well !

Olympic Park
Oops! A bit behind again guys... Hope you see this message. These photos remind us of the time we went to the park. It had been p----g down like a monsoon the day before and we decided to take a coach trip out to Blue Mountains to stay a bit drier. The day turned out to be a scorcher and the coach came back via the park. Very impressive. We were so hot and exhausted by that time, we decided to get a cab from there straight to our hotel rather than faff about dropping people off all over Sydney. Good choice as we had a bit more time there. Will endeavour to catch up with you over the next week. It's busy as Tony over at the new workshop quite a bit now and I've been buried in Patsy's books. Last weekend we went to Le Touquet for the beach race. Boy was it busy - 250,000 people they reckon. We got a good spot up high to watch from and the bike race on Sunday was amazing to see, 1050 of them scream down the 5 mile straight! Take care T & W xx
