We sailed for Greenland and the captain said, "If you get sea sick take your tablets or get some from the reception". It was a bit bumpy. only had the metal water bottles crash on to the floor but all well no need for the chicken bags. Arrived at Skjoldunger Fjord plenty of Icebergs all sizes, and proceeded up till Thyrms Glacier, really spectacular, the ship being only 6000 tonnes could get within 200metres, we then piled into the zodiacs for a closer look plus the surrounding landscape, very much solid granite with this large geautiful glacier smack in the middle. Hi all, This might seem a bit quick tomorrow we sail for Greenlannd. Had our city tour, great sights, Hofdi House where Reagan and Gorbachov sugned the non nuclier agreement, The Pearl a big viewing area built on 4 water towers with 360deg views , it is avery pretty place, no brick houses though, mainly wood, from drift wood from the sea and corrogated iron. We were taken out into the country area, very barron like a huge volanic rock pushed up out the sea, you can see the volcano shaped mountains and wide glacial valleys, with lots of fissures runn along the mountian sides. We went to the Thingvellir Nat. Park a very old area created by volanic activity, this formed a huge lake fed by natural springs at the rate of 100tonnes water per ... read more
