Sorry to say the only thing that made me feel like writing is the fact that I have once again caught a cold of sorts. We're in the province of Shaanxi, the city Xi'an. Flying into Beijing, we've been on the go since day one. So far we've cover all the main sites we set out to do. Ate at so many markets, haggled with so many store vendors that I'm ready to chill. This burning sensation in my head has gotten me a little worried but hopefully all turns out well. I'm convinced that I caught this cold from the girl we're bunking with. She looked like she's in pretty bad shape. Gahhh!! Will write more when I'm feeling better. ... read more
Hey guys look! Our pictures made it into Sunny's magazine. She did a whole write up for the trip but it's all in Korean so I can't make out what it says. But man, somewhere out there we're superstars!... read more

Never stop walking!! Lol, so guys 1.35pm London time I arrived at Heathrow Intl. The flight out of Cairo went well. Met Hue that was incidentally on another overland tour from Jordan to Cairo. The sworn enemy of Oasis...and apparently according to them Oasis is shite. Ughh...we hate you too. If I had rocks in my hand I'd throw them. Oasis rocks. No pun intended. London is an entire civilization of its own. Could I come live here for a year? How neat would that be?! Arrghhh guess what I've learned on this trip more than anything else is that I'm not ready to settle down in one place. It feels like I've been travelling forever at this point. Walked into Contiki's basement with a sense of dread. What was I thinking?? Anywho got my ... read more
Got into Cairo this morning on an overnight bus from Dahab. You are looking at a newly certified advance open water diver! I am oh so proud of myself, can you tell?? The last 4 dives were fabulous. Definitely up to Red Sea standard or have I already said that. The last dive we saw 2 turtles and 2 giant moray eels! Biggest I have ever seen anyways. My 5 dives were: Naturalist Drift Underwater photography Deep Underwater navigation While most of the dives were nothing difficult, I totally spazzed on my deep dive. You know how some people get narked under high pressure? I'm definitely one of them. Didn't think I would be, after all I've done it before. But oh my gawd, I so spazzed. All of a sudden I had a panic ... read more
Again, let me begin by saying...WOW! It just never ceases to amaze me how amazing life is. I know I've gone to a good place when diving is involved. Three dives later I've decided to finally do my advance diving course. How cool is that that I get to do it here in Egypt!!! The price is comparable to Malaysia and Thailand, maybe just a little bit more. That's gonna throw a bit ok a kink into my budget but what the hey it really is once in a lifetime kinda thing. I was gonna do the dives anyways. Started out yesterday with the first dive and it wasn't awesome. For one my powered lenses were not correctly done. Bugger. Yep, that's my new favourite word - bugger! lol...picked it up somewhere... So then the ... read more
Well kids that looks like it for Jordan. We're at the border town of Aqaba by the Red Sea. I've been looking forward to this for a lonnnnnng time. Tomorrow if all goes well I'll be going diving in Dahab. Yes!!! Can't wait man... Until now we haven't really gotten a chance to actually sit and write without being under a time crunch. This whole internet cafe hopping thing is so not cool. Miss spending hours on the computer doing nothing. Tonight we're getting on an overnight ferry that sails into Dahab in the Sinai peninsular. The ferry crossing is so random that we'll prob end up waiting for hours on each side. Where's a good book when you need one? I've been writing in my journal religiously so that will keep me occupied as well. ... read more
Maybe Damascus Middle East » Syria » Damascus By ana_be_good May 18th 2007 Ana Wow! is all I can say about Damascus. I love it here. My mind is already scheming on how I could come back to love here for a little bit. Apparently there are english schools here that I can work at. Is this it then? Am I meant to come live in Syria for a few months? This place is just so...kewl, for the lack of a better word. Been hanging out with too many Kiwis on this trip. These people spell awesome with a capital O. People here are just so nice. Apart from being stared at and Paula getting her ass grabbed, I had the best day. We wandered around town with a ... read more
