Arrived in Kuala Lumpur safely, just a little after 12am on New Years day. While I didn't (still don't) understand Vietnam, it is what it is. 4.40pm - February 16th finds me locked out of my own hotel. Pat and I spent 2 hours walking around town looking for a place to eat but everything is closed. Finally found a place to eat, but came back to a hotel whose gates were shut. We've been waiting outside for a whole hour and nobody has shown up. Worse yet, they have my passport. After getting ripped off (of course) on my clothes in Hoi An, I was too tired to argue with anyone about anything. Had a bus to catch and it was moving me along so...whatever... Arrived in Hoi An yesterday evening and checked into the youth hostel here right away without any issues. Met some people and we ended up going out for dinner and drinks later. Holy smokes. Yesterday I bumped into Chandler from Victoria!! Knew he was living here and in this area at that but didn't expect to actually see him! lol Small, small world! 8 am - woke up to the outline of towering sky scrapers in my sweet, sweet room 9 am - finished watching "proof" which umm...had a really bad ending btw 10am - headed out to forage for food, paid 20B (< C$1) for lunch which made me sick (gotta stop eating there!) Of course, how could I have forgotten! Emm...maybe it had a lot to do with the amount of alcohol consumed. So day 5 on Ko Samui rolled around and I was feeling pretty bummed out trying to decide where to head next. Leaving the internet cafe, I went back to Beer's House and Huong2 yelled at me, "thank god!!where were you?! Some guy gave us 3 tix to the half moon party tonight!
