AMEN! You said it, sister. I am with you all the way. :) I think the "sheltered" folks ought to watch a little more "Pilot Guides" before journeying (i LOVE that show!), or maybe just stay on the ship, uh-huh.
This is why there are so many travellers who have the "Oh man, cruise shippers arrive today". I have seen it in my travels up to the Bay Islands. It's funny how different minds of different kinds of travellers work. Crazy but true. I agree that travelling is getting at the stuff that is untouched.
I'm also nervous about heading home. I feel ya.
That is one HUGE pretty girl that you are kissing Netter. Wow. I love it. Much bigger than any of the ones I've seen swimming around in the ocean! So cool.
So glad you have found such a good friend in Brooks. All good things must come to an end at some point. And you're right, it's not over for good. Your book is still being written. Just this chapter has come to a close, that's all. lol. Sarah and her silly analogies I know. Keep smilin' babe.
Dresses Galore I must admit... I love checking out all your hot dresses in these entries. Always seems to be ones I haven't seen yet. You're hot Netter. I miss ya.
Oh puppies and sweets. Say it really creepily and you're reminded of Dan.
When I saw La Ceiba I almost freaked out but then realized you weren't talking about Honduras. lol.
Miss ya babe.
Thank you Thank you Thank you! Hi, I just wanted to express a huge number of thanks for this blog of yours. I stumbled upon it whilst I was reading my friends blog from South America.
I'm just about to start on The Caribbean Princess (2 weeks yike!) as a photographer and it has been really inspirational to read what life is like firsthand on a ship. Its much more human than those "advice from past crew" sheets you get.
If I have even half as great a time as you seem to be I'll count myself very lucky indeed!
Thanks once again
Rob
you did it! God willing all your bits and pieces are still in tact mentally, this is an experience you will truly savour for the rest of you life Jeanette.
Not like those many other times where you can sorta say 'gezz, I'll never forget this"... you really won't forget the way your heart felt when you stepped out of that plane. good for you, keep enjoying the Fun ship, i love reading your entries in between my regular run of the mill life in Timmins. reminds me most of all close friends of mine are living and living well.
Dear Netter Friend,
I am finally caught up in your entries. For some reason I missed a bunch at one point. Anyways, I am TOTALLY proud of you and doing this. I really don't think I could do it. Honestly. Amazing. Love and miss ya babe.
Love, Me
Surrendering Oh, Jeanette, it's an honour just to be mentioned! :) And here I am again, crying at your adventures. It's that word: surrender - a deliciously seductive word, and yet so...terrifying, as you said. A word I love, a word I long for, and yet my need to be "in control" often stands in the way. I think that is what makes me so proud of you - to let go of that control, and let go of your own limitations and beliefs about who you are. To challenge those who say "you can't do that" is so powerful to see. So empowering. I was absolutely terrified the first time I took a plane to Japan, panicked in the airport. But skydiving? There is nothing that can stop you now. You are the champion of yourself and I just LARVE you, my pal, just LARVE you! :) Keep breathing it all in....(and Oriah is an excellent companion!)
Thats one step for Netter kind.... I am SOOOO very proud of you Netter. I am sending a virtual hug to you, and when I return to the ship will give you a real one.
Hey there Missy..... I hope the change to the new tour is going well!! I felt like I was saying good bye to some of your final ports too! Your journals have been amazing. Things are great here.....thanks for the card and good wishes. The sun is shining today, actually this has been the second day, hooray. The weatherman is promising some great temps for the weekend. Hopefully spring here is to stay. Take Care xoxo Love the 'Auntie'

Yeah, they are ripe. I've always known that the sign of a good mango are them being the oragne/red colour. But then the last time in St. Lucia with the fruit man on the boat, he had green ones and I asked him if they're ripe and he said yes and it's true, they are. They don't grow very big in St. Lucia either. Maybe it's a bit like apples, that there are different types of them? Whatever, they're delightful!
WENCHIE! Hehe... that is TOO funny! Glad you had an awesome time. GO CANADA!
Perhaps you will one day buy your very own sailboat and sail around the World ;) Can I come? lol.
Your mangoes are green! Are they ripe? We know ours are readu when all the green is gone and they are more of a red/orange/yellow colour. Maybe they are different in different countries. Ours should be falling off the trees in our backyards any day now ;P
Glad you had fun on your port trip :)
I make and teach art. The rest of the time, I travel. After Spain, England, Uganda, California and years of tour guiding, it was time for the next big adventure. Working for Carnival Cruise Lines. I signed onto my first ship in December 2006. Sevent contracts and twelve ships later and I've been around the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska.
What have I put my hard-earned cruise money to? More travel! Oct - Dec 08 I travelled around South Africa. Sept 2010 I went to Fiji which had been at the top of my travel list for years. Making dreams come true!

Glad to see you are having fun. Sorry to hear about the people getting kicked off. Yikes!
