Nice pictures and trip!
Great little blog - and nice pictures! The starfish you pictures is a "crown of thorns starfish". It destroys (eats) coral reefs and is poisonous to the touch (the thorns will easily pierce your skin and inject toxin). The good news is found in your snorkeling picture - where you feature a triton snail. Tritons eat crown of thorn starfish. That's why it's now illegal to collect this shell/snail in Fiji. Anyway - yes, there used to be a little hut on stilts out on the reef. It was about a hundred meters from shore, just as you rounded the corner heading down the east coast road. You'd see it at the same time you saw Qamea and Matangi Islands for the first time. I hope you had a great time on Taveuni - it's actually one of my favorite islands in Fiji. In fact, you can see some of my Taveuni underwater videos on YouTube (ScotterP99) in case you get nostalgic for the place. Thanks again for the pics. They're great!

Taveuni is the most beautiful in FIji.thats y its called garden island n its the only place wr the TAGIMOCIA grows.its unique n nowhere found in the world.TAveuni truely is special for us Taveuni gang.we r proud to b fr Taveuni.very nice photos taken.the best is yet to be discovered in Taveuni.i love my island Taveuni n FIji itself

Did you buy a special case for your new camera for diving, or were you just diving really shallow? Or does this one allow you to go deeper than 10 ft? Great photos! Awesome about the shark. I did a shark dive with 20-30 reef sharks but it was guaranteed that we would see sharks (wild, but still being fed once a day), and you were lucky enough to just see one out in the ocean!!! WOW!

You're lucky to see the octopus, especially while snorkeling! They are usually only active at night. Love the shot of Joey with the trigger fish behind him. Awesome.

looks like my surfing experience in Nicaragua. Our instructor told us we would only ever need one lesson in our lives and not to waste money on other lessons. I think the nice thing about having the instructor though, is having them push you into the wave in order to catch it. When I tried on my own, I couldn't paddle my arms hard enough to catch the wave. lol. Congrats on the stand. :)

Lost with Lost
Netter, I AM currently watching the last season of Lost and that building means nothing to me. lol. That show is SOOOOOO freaking confusing. I'm constantly lost with lost - really! Still love it though. Very cool that you saw all these places. I totally recognize many!
