Hi Jeanette: It's great seeing the world through your eyes!! You're visiting places I'm only dreaming about - especially as we wade through all the ice in Canfield.
Love, Aunt Katherine
I finally have taken time to read some more of your travel adventures....which sound heavenly. Your pics are great! Despite some of the cold you're fighting, you look glowing and peaceful in the photos. We have had a minimal blast of winter in the form a ice storm (after all it's January). The kids were actually off Monday. I so need some sunshine and warmth. Everyone here sends their love, kisses and hugs.
Wow, Netter, you look so beautiful in that photo in your wee pink hat! The island is beautiful and I get inspired living vicariously through you. It's snowing in TO (winter has finally arrived!) and the sea, sand and sun is heart warming. I'd heard about Turks and Caicos being absolutley brilliant - and I'm surprised to see it looks a bit like the Niagara Escarpment near Georgian Bay! Love you lots and BIG HUGS. Miss you and hope you're feeling better. xoxo.
missing you! Hey Netter,
Sounds like you are having an amzing time -- even despite the constant basedrum! I've been thinking about you lately, wondering how things are going so I thought I'd check in and make sure it was as great as I imagined.
Tanzania is amazing, and the experience is awesome... I'm so glad I'm here, I miss our rehearsals though but I've been doing plenty of my own directing -- working with out of school youth in the fight against AIDS. If you have the time, feel free to peruse my blog http://backpackers-post.blogspot.com .
Anyway, keep in touch. Love you.
xoxo jordi
Such blue water... love it. Thanks for the pics. You ever figure out the image resizer? How were the buses? Like school buses? That's what they use here. Have fun in Central America. So CLOSE! I wanna hear all about what I should travel to before I come home. Would be fun if we could talk about some of the same places we visited when we get home!
Oh I love that you get to see these bands. That's awesome. I bet the cruise is crazy. SOOOO fun Netter. Glad you're settled into your new room. It'll all be home-y soon! Miss you. Keep the updates coming. LOVED the pics. Pics of your room perhaps? A little virtual tour?
I'm working for Carnival Cruise Lines. Most of the major cruise lines offer similar runs to the one I'm doing. Princess is a sub company owned by Carnival, so I'm sure some similarities are due to that as well.
hey there! sounds like you're having a blast. i just had a quick question. i just came across your journal, and i don't know if you already stated it, but i was wondering what cruise line you're on? i went on a cruise that was exactly like the one you're on now, so that's why i was asking. it went all through the panama canal and stuff. it was on princess cruise lines.
well have a great time on the rest of your cruise!
Hello Jeanette Hi there!!! I am in the midst of house reno's writing you because i have just now caught up with your blog...(slow i know). I am glad you are having a good time and i want you to know that you are missed just as much as you are missing us!
Things are same old here for the most part, wish you were here for new years but hey there is always next year... So.....any hilties??????
Hope you continue to have a great time and when in doubt throw on the green dress!!!! Just do it!!
Luv ya!
Kris
2007... My New Years also sucked... Hard! I was stuck in Dominican with no one except my brother and nothing to do. It was really lame.
But, hopefully shitty transition means awesome year. The OC has been cancelled so we're on the right track.
Happy New Year! Dear Sister, I'm glad to hear that things are going better for you on the ship. You're the best at finding friends anywhere you go, genuine friends at that... those are the hardest to find. You'll have no problem doing so down there either. It sounds like you're getting more comfortable with your job and surroundings, I'm extremely jealous as I'll continue working at Crackerjack's and oooohhh how fun that is!! (in the cold, going to school, lol) I'm looking forward to your next journal, stay smart and stay safe big sister. Love You!
Love to my Friend Netter... My New Year's Eve was also disappointing because I was also thinking about what else I COULD have been doing back home. Our minds are a horrible thing huh?
That's super cool that you know a family on the shop right now. A little taste of home. After some time though, that boat will start to feel like home, I'm sure of it.
Sounds like the chaos has somewhat settled. Congrats for getting through it! Teaching hip hop and hanging out with the teens... sounds awesome Netter. You really are working in a dream job... or at least what some might consider a dream job. I know I would LOVE to do something like that. Drink it all in my friend. It's not every day we have experiences like these :)
CHERYL!!!! This is such wonderfully exciting news! Even though it is months away from now, that would be so incredibly delightful! Oh I hope hope hope that I'll be able to stay on the ship and see you then! Hope everything went well in South Africa. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Ah....I feel the sunshine.....and sand... hello there.....Happy New Year!!!! I'm envious......I can feel the peacefulness and warmth of the sunshine. I hope you enjoyed Martinque. We loved it 20 years ago which seems like yesterday. I'm glad to hear things are getting better..... the mingling thing will come as you become more comfortable with your surroundings. Enjoy!! xoxo
Guess What? Guess what? Ken and I along with 2 other couples have been booked on the Legend due to Leave May 12th, so we may possibly see you if you havent switched ships! It is on the Panama, Costa Rica 8 day cruise. Good Luck with the job,
Cheryl
All aboard now Hey Jeanette!!!
I am living vicariously through you right now, and eager to hear all these interesting adventures, within and without. I know how you feel, believe it or not, about not always approaching new people so easily. There's always that fear of rejection, and the effort that goes into it all. Maybe you just need some solo time for now, until you're ready to take the plunge! Just remember there's lots of us thinking of you and frollicking in those sugary beaches with you (even from a distance!)
yeah, still not honduras. SO close to you though! it's a like a big tease!
for my room i have a small room that i share with one other person. in the room we have a bunk bed, closet, cupboard with shelves and a small desk. there's also a small bathroom. the size of the room would be comparable to a bunk in Brant - the storage space being tighter and the floor space being slighter larger. Mehealia (my roomie) has been on the ship for about 7 months now. she only has 6 cruises to go and she's counting them down. she's not really enjoying her contract, mostly because she works so much and it's exhausted her.
tara, the girl who i'm taking over from, her boyfriend is from honduras, so i'm always always always hearing about honduras. and missing you.
I make and teach art. The rest of the time, I travel. After Spain, England, Uganda, California and years of tour guiding, it was time for the next big adventure. Working for Carnival Cruise Lines. I signed onto my first ship in December 2006. Sevent contracts and twelve ships later and I've been around the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska.
What have I put my hard-earned cruise money to? More travel! Oct - Dec 08 I travelled around South Africa. Sept 2010 I went to Fiji which had been at the top of my travel list for years. Making dreams come true!
