Hello everyone, a lot has happened since the last entry. After the crazyness that was Nha Trang, the boys decided to head to the much more laid back resort town of Mui Ne. There isn't much to do there except sit on the beach, but there is however one activity that the boys had to try-sand dune crazy carpeting. Just outside the town there are massive red sand dunes and for a couple thousand dong you can rent sleds and go down them. Not quite the same as snow, but its was an experience. Dave and Jord also tried their luck [View Full Entry]

Bickety Bickety Blog Time! Well after a quick night spent in Da Nang where the boys hung out with a Canadian girl teaching english there they made there way across the river to the amazing town of Hoi An. Basically Hoi An is the Vietnamese version of Luang Prabang, but on the ocean. Old french buildings and amazing Asian architecture pretty much make up the town. After a relaxing first night in Hoi An, the boys did what everyone does when in Hoi An, regardless of how poor backpacking has made them, and they got suits made. The whole of Hoi [View Full Entry]

Well every 10 month trip is bound to have some minor setbacks, and the boys experienced one in Hanoi this past week. The flight from Vientiene to Hanoi on the Laos national airline was exactly what would you would expect from Laos, an international airport smaller then most small town hockey rinks and ridiculously translated airline magazines. For example, a direct quote; "The Laos capital was built on a pile of wild dog excretement. What did the excretement look like? Nobody knows." Can't make that stuff up. After landing in Hanoi the boys dodged the usual airport taxi scams and checked [View Full Entry]

Well our Lao adventure has finally come to and end, and what a good time it's been. Never have we been in a country thats had to face so many hardships where the people are so laid back, and friendly as here in Lao. Trivia time, whats the most bombed country in history? You guessed it, Laos! So they've been through quite a bit. Anyways after their trekking experience, the boys decided that they needed to experience something that was a little less ummm cultural. So after a 6 hour bus ride through and around and up and down and over [View Full Entry]

Trekking Asia » Laos » West » Luang Prabang
Well everyone, after two days spent in the wild, the boys managed to trek back to civilization to share some Laosian stories with you. But first things first, the north of Thailand and travels into Laos. Jord and Dave flew out of Bangkok to the northern city of Chaing Mai, 1 hour by plane and 14 by bus. Pretty obvious which they chose. This first night was spent wondering around this town, which had a huge night market and the old town was built inside a moat and ancient wall. The next day Dave bought a new camera as his broke [View Full Entry]

Bangkokin' It. Asia » Thailand » Central Thailand » Bangkok
So we made it out of Bangkok alive and well, sort of. After a pretty early morning arrival in Bangkok from Mumbai the boys made their way to their hostel. Obviously having heard the news we were all a bit tense with regards to Bangkok, but we figured we'd have to bite the bullet and try not to let the news scare us away from an amazing city and incredible country. Little did we know however, that our hostel would be right in the middle of the predetermined protest zone. Greeted by riot trucks and riot police, we made our way [View Full Entry]

Just so everyone doesn't get worried about us. Things are fine here in Bangkok, the media are blowing it up to be alot more than it is. We just spent the day and night all over Bangkok and there's no problems at all. We miss and love you all. And Jord wants me to say 'PEACE'! So I did. [View Full Entry]

The last of India Asia » India » Maharashtra » Mumbai
Soooo after another long break between entries, its time for an update on the last leg of India. After seeing that a train ride from Mumbai to Delhi took about 26 hours, the boys decided to reach into the other pocket and take a plane to the Indian capital. Upon arrival in Delhi they took a taxi to Paharganj, the main bazaar in Delhi. This also happened to be the location of our hostel and made for a couple nice, relaxing nights. In the center of a city of 10 million. The next day Dave and Jord finally took the plunge [View Full Entry]

Finally got some time at a computer. So figured it would be time for a new blog. Goa ended as well as it could have. David & Jordan rented some scooters a couple days and made there way up and down North Goa. Trekking form Madjid Beach in the far North, to Fort Aguada in the far South (have a look on google maps if you get the time). Anyways there were plenty of huge beaches, rolling hills, and cows up and down the Goan coastline. Even better David managed to save a helpless calf from being hit by a passing [View Full Entry]

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING CANADA, and the UK and Europe and I think even India. So after their day spent at Elephanta Island Dave & Jord thought that it would be a good time to try and meet up with some of Dave's Indian friends from good old Antwerp. After a couple calls to a couple secretaries, Dave managed to get in touch with his good friend Anshul Mehta (one of the diamond boys, although in Antwerp they were all diamond boys). Anyways Anshul came and picked us up, and drove the car himself surprisingly (crazy man), we went to one of the [View Full Entry]
