Over these nine months we have ... read more

Well everyone, the boys apologize for the long wait between blogs, but between the south pacific islands internet connections and the south pacific islands themselves its been difficult for them to sit down and write. However, as they find themselves in Auckland yet again, it seems like a good time to let everyone know what Fiji and Tonga were all about. After an extra night in NZ due to *%#$^& STA travel and a 'missed' flight the boys found themselves on the February 14 (Valentines Day anyone?) flight into Fiji. Waiting at the airport was the hostels driver ready to take them to the Beach House Resort on the Coral Coast where friends from the Kiwi Experience were already staying. For those interested, this was the site of the 2006 reality show Love Island, big time. ... read more

Hello everyone, apologies for the long delay between blogs but the Kiwi Experience doesn't give the boys much time to type. Since Lake Taupo Dave and Jord have been up to quite a bit, finishing of the North Island in the capital of NZ, Wellington. There they reunited with J-mo and friends for a night out on the town and some interesting times in even more interesting bars. Ask for details when they get home in a month. The city is very nice though, small, clean and very Kiwi. The boys walked through the government buildings and museums (all free, fantastic) as well as the nightly concerts in the city gardens (again free-what a place!) before taking the ferry across to the South Island. The first stop there is a small community called Picton where there ... read more

Goooooood morning everybody and Kia Ora (maori for hows it going). Well the boys made it safe and sound to New Zealand following the treacherous night and morning of flights across Australia and the Tasman Sea, and what a difference the Sea makes. Not only does the accent change (tennis now sounds like dinnis, minutes now sounds like mainutes etc.) but the temperature (colder) and landscape (greener) does as well. Arriving in Auckland the boys instantly noticed the change. Auckland is a bit of a funny one because there are 4 million people in the whole of new zealand, and about a quarter of that all live in Auckland. Expecting to spend only a couple nights in Auckland, the boys changed their minds quickly after discovering that the Big Day Out was planned for the 16th ... read more

Well folks it's finally about time for a blog entry (musta had you worried that our chutes didn't open or something like that). As you can probably imagine, there isn't alot of internet access available from the back of a camper van, especially when you're about 300 kms from the nearest human. Lets keep this party moving though! After a crazy fun time spent in the party capital that is surfers paradise, the boys and pals finally manned up to jump 14000 feet from an airplane over the stunningly beautiful Byron Bay. Having worked up the courage to wake up at 5:00, and the strength to hold off drink for one night, the crew woke up and made their way towards the great plunge. After arriving at the airflield, strapping into their suits and going over ... read more

Well everyone, the boys again apologize for the lack of entries, but it takes them a while to pool enough memories together to complete a blog. When they last left off the group was sweating it out in the rainforest heat in Cairns, and it was here that they managed to book what was sure to be a highlight of the trip, sailing in the Whitsunday islands. After another overnight bus ride to Airlie Beach (the boys are getting quite good at sleeping just about anywhere, thank you India and Vietnam) they arrived in the city and met up with more University of Lethbrigde friends for a few nights on the town before sailing. Carl's Canadian accent is getting a lot better after being surrounded by them for the last month, although the boys Swedish is ... read more

Wow has it ever been a longtime since our last bloggizzle, we have to apologise. See, since we arrived, Australia has been unbelievable. We're talking the stuff we'll think about when we listen to Kenny Chesney songs when he whines about how good things were when he was young, that's what's happening right now. Anyways we started out our Oz Odyssey in lovely Bribane, or Brizzie, or Bris-Vegas, depends on who you ask. After a quiet night in the first night, the boys got hold of one of the new members of their crew, the infamous Matt Stefura. A few jugs later and with plans in hand, the boys knew that they were on the brink of something incredible. Brisbane is a great city with a beautiful boardwalk and loads of stuff to do during the ... read more

Well folks, the boy's time in Southeast Asia is about to come to an end. After an enjoyable, yet extremely expensive couple of nights in Singapore, the boys made their way to Kuala Lumpur. So far KL's been a hit, offering very much the same experience as Singapore but everything is at least half the price. Not only that but the boys made their way to the Petronas towers (look them up) this morning and were really really impressed. There are few new buildings that catch the boys eyes, but the Petronas towers are something to behold. Plenty of shopping has gone down as well, as knockoff clothes, dvds, shades, etc. are healthily on offer in Chinatown where the boys are staying, so they figured that they'd better get in as much as they could while ... read more

Well everyone, its been a while since the boys posted a blog and they figured they better before leaving Asia, so here it goes. After a few days in Koh Tao spent on the beach and mini-golfing, the boys decided that since they weren't diving it was time to get moving to the next island in line, Koh Phangan, home of the infamous full moon parties. Unfortunately they boys missed the full moon by a couple weeks, but luckily there was a blackmoon party (don't ask them what the significance of a black moon is, it was just an excuse to drink buckets). They even met some Swedish guys to go to the party in the back of a truck with. The next few days were spent recovering, but they did manage to meet a group ... read more

Well as expected, the blog entries have been few and far between ever since we got to the South of Thailand, which the boys can only apologise for, things here are much much busier than anywhere else they've been so far. Sooooo back to the blogging of Totus Mundus 2008-2009. After a super swell time running through Cambodia the boys managed to get their two flights down to Krabi on the Andaman Coast of Thailand. Krabi itself doesn't offer too much, as it's basically a pitstop for those who are looking to get to Ko Phi Phi, but the boys figured they needed to have abit of a rest before going somewhere different. The first couple days were spent pretty much laying around, talking about the oncoming Edmonton Oilers ice hockey season. The boys also managed ... read more
