small world we live in Well hello-
I laughed out loud. Here I am doing a bit of research on Triora, Italy. I spoke with my neighbors yesterday about our upcoming trip to Italy and they told me the name of the village that they own two flats in. As I was scanning the many different things written about Triora I stumbled on this blog. As I was reading it I realized that you are Jenny's parents. I'm the Alexandra that lives two houses down from Martin, Jenny and Elliot. Small world indeed. We had such a nice time with you guys when you came to our house for our Memorial cookout. As a matter of fact, I just got the sweet potatoe salad recipe with the curry from my mom and gave it to Jenny this mornig. My mother, Debbie, says sorry that she did not get it to you sooner and she would like to share another recipe of hers with you. Well back to my research. We have not yet found all of the places in Italy that we wish to travel to next year, but this has been helpful to me. You now have my email and I would love to hear ffrom you. Thanks, Alexandra
Marvelous! I've just read your entire travel blog beginning at the beginning, enjoying every entry and every picture. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm impressed that you put all this together so well. Pastor Terry, let us know when you preach in "your" pulpit as pictured, and we'll make every effort to be there. Susan, I'm surprised you haven't mentioned learning to prepare gelatto! Blessings to you. Becky
WOW! Susan and Terry,
Happy Anniversary and I am sorry that you lost your wallet but the gypsies are buying beer for their children oh I mean gelato for their children and beer for the artist who makes sand jesuses (sp). Sounds like a great country and western song.
I love this blog and please give Luke a hug when you all get to Nice. I miss you and this blog makes me want to be with you on every adventure.
If you get to Sicily or close, look for any Abate's my dad's family was from Sicily.
Much love and safe travels....Mary
tapas We wish we were with you eating tapas as the 8 of us did in McKinney! Happy traveling and thanks for the blog so we can get ideas for our next trip!
I found the blog! I went through your entire vacation thus far and caught up with you. It sounds like an incredible journey you've had. I'm really interested in that gelato. I'm sure the chef on Food Network, Giada DeLaurentis, provides a recipe on the website...only if you need a little help!! Well, if I read you right, you are on your way to Barcelona and should experience even more unique sights. Terry, I liked your new pulpit...it befitting you! Love, Cheryl
What a way to retire! Hi, Terry and Susan,
Amanda sent us a link to your travel blog.....
We're glad you are having such a great time!
I think y'all look just spiffy as "tourists- incognito."
Live it up!
Sheila
have a wonderful trip! Hi Terry and Susan - have a wonderful time in Spain it is a beautiful country. I was there when my brother was stationed there in the airforce, of course that was when I was in seventh grade but I remember visiting many of the places you have mentioned already. Blessings, Marilyn
fyi- A place to see.... My husband travelled around europe and said you should take a short train ride to Toledo. It's an in-tact walled medievil town that he said was one of his favorite places in Spain. FYI, It's the town El Greco lived in and as a result it has a lot of his art. Toodles!
howdy from the hood Hey y'all- so glad you got there safe and sound and already having fun and eating well. The hotel sounds awesome. I love this blog- thanks for taking the time to write the entries. It's like we're travelling with you! Have a blast! Hugs!
Elliot's escalator ride? Elliot has not mentioned any escalator adventures to us -- is there something we should know!?
Maybe that explains why, when I told him about your escapades with the escalator at the Atlanta airport, he got a very concerned look on his face and said 'Oh no, I'm really worried about Nonna!'
Hope you get the photos working soon -- I want to see that paella!
Love you!
Yay! Your first blog post from the road is a success! You make it look easy. I hope you'll be able to include some photos, too. And details about the food you're eating in Spain.
Elliot is also enjoying seeing your blog and he wanted to know how far it is from Spain to Italy!
Love you guys!
Thanks to our wonderful church, King of Glory Lutheran, in Dallas, we will enjoy a trip to Spain. We would like to share our journey and some photos with our church, family and friends. We will be in Spain and Italy from June 16th through July 10th.... full info
