Today was our first full day on our units in the hospital. I spent my whole day on the Neuro ICU with Sarah. We learned a lot about the similarities and differences between the medical care in Thailand versus in the US. In Thailand, they reuse almost all their resources to cut costs and to save resources. This is unlike the US, because we throw away everything and never reuse resources. Also, they do their nursing care in a systematic manner. They do mouth care and turns ever two hours, like in America, but they have set times, such as 9am, 11am, 1am, and so on. The unit was very helpful, and all the nurses helped each other out.
