Well well, here we are folks at the end of the trip, only 3 more sleeps till the self destructive 24hr flight home to reality... But what a week it has been. Lets start with stockholm, in one word magnificent. An amazing archipeligo and beautiful park lands, and freezing *%&#ing cold. -2 degrees was the average for the weekend that we were there. Seems like a long time ago now, but the old town was lovely, and we had some fantastic meals, i can recommend roast elk, supperb. got stupidly cold one day walking around the open air museum, saw reindeer, ate about 4 rounds of pastries and then walked to the lookout tower at 2.30pm for sunset (yes i am serious). The cold makes you so tired, proof of this is whilst watching the lovely ... read more

Merry Christmas everyone!!!! We hope you had a lovely day yesterday, ours has been truly amazing. After a long journey to Lund on Sunday, we arrived in Lund on Monday morning, with only one small problem. We had forgottten to write down Stus address...whoops. We headed to a cafe, sent many text messages. And tried to rectify the problems, which included one flat mobile phone, no internet connectivity and the wrong mobile number for stu. A big thanks goes to Ash who helped us in our time of need, by sending us the directions to Stus. As it goes, after we recieved Ash's text, stus replied straight away with exactley the same directions... very funny. Stu and Em have a great little set up in Lund, we really like their place, and Lund is a very ... read more

Hey all, Well i am happy to anounce that Cesky Crumlov is my favourite place so far on our trip. A truly beautiful and amazing little town. It was the only town in the region and most of europe that was not damaged during either world wars, or communist era, and most importantly never had a major fire (which for obvious reasons causes mass damage). For this reason it is a UNESCO heritage listed town, and truly worthy of it. THere is not a huge amount to do there, but it lovely just wandering the streets and taking in the views. We did an audio guide of the entire village which was great, as it explained some famous stories of people who lived in the village over the many years. In particular, the story of the ... read more

Hello again, Well it has been an amazing week. I think i last left off when we were about to head to bruge for a day trip. Bruge was fantastci very cute little town with venice style waterways meandering throught the city. Highlights, were the bell tower, which almost made me crap my pants when it went off whilst we were enjoying the view. for those who have seen the 'in bruges' movie of late, it is a bit spooky standing outside the bell tower and imagining that guys smashed up head...its not a great flick, but the town is great. We went for a wander to see the sights, and a really sweet little area, which was many hundreds of years ago, was where the spinsters, widows and women of faith used to live. Scotty ... read more

Hello again everyone, Well therest of my visit to spain went well. Visited Ferrol, where SImon works, which is basicaly one massize ship yard, not a very scenic place, but the vino was great. We had a lovely christmasy dinner on our last night, with roast and apple crumble, and a freshly decorated Xmas tree. On THursday Simon and Mands dropped me at the airport and then i was jetsetting again to Paris. Had only minor difficulties getting from the airport to the hotel. With phrase book in hand i got tickets and got on the metro and arrived, taking about 1.5hrs... THe big day was friday, so i spent most of thursday night working on my talk and waiting for scotty to arrive. Although i did sneak down to what would become my favorite street ... read more

Hello eveyone, Well I have been in Spain for around 5 days now so I thought that I had better send an update and some photos. The trip has been great so far, I have seen most of the sights of La Coruna, Spain where Simon and Amanda live. The Tower of Hercules which is the oldest functioning light house in the world is in la coruna, and we have a lovely view of if from simons lounge room. The weather has been wet, very wet, or ridiculously wet. But the travel gear is holding up and so there has been no real drama’s as yet. I have been tasting the local fare and enjoying every morsel, which I am sure you are all surprised by. Highlights include; santiago cake, Jamon (ham) and cheese in a ... read more

Hi guys, well its our last day today, we are home tomorrow and it hasn't really been the best 24hrs of our trip. Scotty has food poisoning from fried rice with crab and was throwing up all night... poor thing. So last night we hung out in our hostel watching star wars - heheheh classic. Anyway, so we wont be doing too much today either. But apart from that we have had an absolutely fabulous last week. I will start of with where i last wrote. So we hung out in sihanoukville-cambodia for 5 days and had a pretty crazy time hanging out with our new american friends and you won't believe that the guy running the guesthouse we stayed at is an australian expat who told us that he is in thailand because he ... read more

Hi again, Hopefully tyhis can be quicker than the last email. So getting to the cambodian border was easy enough, but once there things got a little out of hand. We headed straight to the casino to avoid the taxi touts that follow you around at the border. We had heard people get taxis for about 20US to siam reap and we were aiming to get that or lower, but taxi drivers wouldn't budge from 35US. They keep saying rd was very bad, bridge is broken blah blah blah. We kept saying oh yeah thats what you always say, so we headed of at about 5pm the driver wanted us to stay in a hotel over night and go in the morning because it was too late, but we were definitley going now so we ... read more
