North America September 6th 2012

Washington is so different from anywhere we’ve been. Even though it’s so business orientated it has such a laidback and relaxed feel around the place. No one is in a rush – very different to London! It’s cool that everything we want to see is in one area, but it’s a very huge area! We past time as the rain cleared up this morning by exploring the Smithsonian National History Museum. There were loads of interesting things to see from dinosaur skeletons to an exhibition about the Chilean mine rescue which had the real escape pod, equipment and letters. Luckily we walked through the insect section as they were about to feed a Mexican Fire legged spider. Although our skin crawled the whole way through it was crazy seeing it pounce on a live cricket. Hello Washington! We haven’t been here long or explored beyond the area around our hotel but already we’re impressed with Washington DC :) It’s very classy and swank, we felt very out of place in shorts and t shirts with everyone around us in suits! The weather is also lovely :) We can’t wait to get sightseeing tomorrow-bright and early! There will be lots of pictures :) We’ll say hi to Obama from you all! x x x... read more

Miami Beach - the area was a lot less glamorous than Annie has expected but Scott thought it was a cool place. The beach itself was nice with loads of unique life guard huts and clean water. After our first dip in the Atlantic Ocean we strolled along the streets of shops and restaurants and grabbed some $2 tacos. We walked along the shore and took advantage of our last chance to sunbathe on this trip. We are afraid to tell you all that we have had a burger king every night since we got here because it is directly across the street :) Tonight Scotty went out with a bang by having a double cheese burger, a chicken sandwich, some chicken nuggets and some fries…Augustus the Great! This Burger King made for some very unique ... read more

Miami Marlins -7 Milwaukee Brewers - 3 We’re so glad we were able to catch a baseball game while we are here, it was awesome! It was more fun that we learnt the rules as it went along because we only knew about striking out and a home run but by the end we knew all the rules :) We didn’t know it was Labour Day today, we thought it was tomorrow so it was a surprise to see the stadium half full on a Monday until we realised this! Scotty bought a baseball souvenir although we kept hoping the ball would get hit into our stand so we could keep a real one! Then again, when they were being hit at 90mph maybe it’s a good thing they didn’t aim for us… Before the game ... read more

Hi everyone! We’ve done nothing to report today just flown to Miami and stood in Immigrations line for 2 hours and finally reached the hotel at 6. We're heading to a baseball game tomorrow to watch the Miami Marlins which should be fun, we'll try our best to get on the big screen, lots of gurning for Scotty then! Peace out! x x x... read more

Ola! Hope you’re all having a good weekend so far! We were slightly too hungover this morning to blog so here are the pictures from last night :) We’ve been sunbathing all day and our lobster look shows it! Instead of paying a professional laundrette to do our washing we decided to make our own laundrette consisting of a bin, some washing tablets and a sun bed. They smell better anyway! Miami bound tomorrow! Not before Scotty wakes up at 7:30a.m to watch Liverpool online – he’s been warned not to wake Annie. We’ll blog to let you all know we got there! Missing you all x x x... read more

What a fantastic day we’ve had! We took an early ferry over to Isle Mujeres – The Island of Women, and spent the whole day there and it was blue skies all day! The dolphinarium is really big and there were about 15 dolphins altogether. Annie had never seen a dolphin until Orlando when there was one in an aquarium so she was like a kid in Disney Land, again! Breakfast and lunch was included which was a nice discovery! Our swim wasn’t until 12 so we used the infinity pool and sunbathed. Our dolphin was called Andromada and the encounter was amazing! We stroked him (he felt like a wetsuit), kissed him, shook his fins, played ball, splashed around with him and listened to him fart through his blow hole :) After seeing the trainer ... read more

Not much to report today! We sat by the pool but after a couple of hours there was a big rain shower and gusts of wind so we went back to the room. Since then we’ve chilled out, done absolutely nothing apart from book a Dolphin experience for tomorrow, seen Liverpool win, eaten a lot of food and spent less than £10 on three meals! Scotty’s thinking of moving here because you can live on £2 a day! We’ve also been eaten by mosquitos worse than the bed bugs! We’re getting an early, alcohol free night ready for an early rise tomorrow to see Flipper and his friends :) We’re not allowed to take photos there but we can buy some! Shall take photos of the ones we get to show you all. We’re sure tomorrow’s ... read more

North America » Mexico August 29th 2012

It’s been a long day with two flights down to Cancun, Mechikkooo but well worth the wait! We arrived about six local time (we’re six hours behind you guys again). The first thing that was on our minds was getting out and having a good time, after all this was our vacation part of the trip so we plan on making the most of it. We headed out to a bar for some food which ended up being a club/bar so it was a bit crazy when we left with a huge queue outside waiting to get in. Along the strip there was a lion cub and a tiger cub that Annie immediately objected to and plans on calling the Mexican RSPCA as soon as she’s sober! There was also a snake which Scotty ran from ... read more

Not to sound too cheesy, but we’ve seen some magical stuff today! The Magic Kingdom does not disappoint and it’s not just for kids :) It was pretty manic and busy though so we didn’t manage to do all the rides but the ones we did were loads of fun! The parades really got us in the Disney mood and Annie started spinning and dancing around the park. The weather was crazy! It went from blue skies to torrential rain that left lakes on the floor, then back to boiling. We will never forget the different ways the Castle lit up in the night – reflecting characters, pictures of people from the day and loads of animations. The firework show was A-mazing! Hats off to Disney, they know how to get a WOW! The “Wish Upon ... read more
