Washington is so different from anywhere we’ve been. Even though it’s so business orientated it has such a laidback and relaxed feel around the place. No one is in a rush – very different to London!

It’s cool that everything we want to see is in one area, but it’s a very huge area! We past time as the rain cleared up this morning by exploring the Smithsonian National History Museum. There were loads of interesting things to see from dinosaur skeletons to an exhibition about the Chilean mine rescue which had the real escape pod, equipment and letters. Luckily we walked through the insect section as they were about to feed a Mexican Fire legged spider. Although our skin crawled the whole way through it was crazy seeing it pounce on a live cricket. We couldn’t handle the woman letting giant cockroaches crawl over her hands and soon moved on. Blergh!

No matter where we stood in the centre of downtown we could see the top of the Captiol Building which is where we headed first when the sun came out. It was surprisingly peaceful everywhere, even outside the White House we managed to get a lot of space to take pictures.

The best part of the day was sitting on the grass right next to the Monument when the sun was getting low and we could see the Lincoln Memorial behind the Reflection Pool, the White House and the Capitol Building surrounding us.

We have the Lincoln Memorial and the Martin Luther King Memorial left to see tomorrow before our loooong bus journey to Toronto 😊

Goodbye from the White House!

Love love love this!
Elle Woods: It has come to my attention that the maintenance staff is switching our toilet paper from Charmin... to generic. All those opposed to chafing, please say "Aye". Entire Sorority Group: Aye. All you need is a rat ugly dog in that bag and you ARE Elle Woods! xxx
