Boeing have set up a homage to the history of flight and it's own history and how it has grown and changed through the years. They really have done the complete subject justice. There are two main halls, which contain 40 or so aircraft in each. Everything from a reproduction of the Wright brothers first aircraft to space shuttles. In the first hall there are two flight simulators that cost $8 a person but are state of the art. You get locked in and it spins around to the way that you control the aircraft. There is also a small plane [View Full Entry]

We went on Saturday to the state fair called Puyallup Fair (pronounced pew all up). The fair is on from the 7th till the 23rd of September. When we left the house in the morning it was 58°F and when we arrived at the showground 45 mins later it was 68°F. It was a scorcher, not a cloud in the sky. The fair itself is a mixture of animal shows/displays, rodeo and and big fair with bungee jumping rollercoasters etc. We wanted to see the rodeo and a thing called Mutton Bustin'. Mutton Bustin is where kids under 6 and 60lbs [View Full Entry]

Ride

Just been to see the Snoqualmie Falls and it is very picturesque. There is not a lot there but the atmosphere is very tranquil and well worth a visit. The water fall has a drop of 270 feet and lands in a 65 foot deep pool. There are two hydro electric plants there. The construction of the first was started in 1898 and the second added in 1910. Between the two stations they generate nearly 42,000 kw which is enough to power around 16,000 homes. I think that the idea of hydro electric power generation is absolutely brilliant but why o [View Full Entry]

I went with Wolf to a local tavern, about 10 miles away in Fall City, the other night. It was full of bikers and rednecks and the decor was a little higglede pigglede which all added to the ambience. It was actually quite a nice place with nice people. I got asked for ID when I ordered, you are supposed to carry it at all times, I was quite surprised as I havent been asked for ID since I was 17. We got a couple of pints of a locally brewed pale ale, which was quite nice, for $7.50. It's cheap [View Full Entry]

We had the plan of wearing out the girls so that they would sleep on the plane and then sleep when we got to Wolf & Sarahs in Seattle. We walked from the Hotel, on 42nd & 10th, across to fifth avenue then down fifth avenue to Central park. Stopping at the rockerfeller centre and Trump towers. The place is increadibly garish, but the waterfall inside the building is worth seeing. We sat in Central park and Chloe spoke to a japanese guy who was filming some large monarch butterflies. He had been there every day filming them for the last [View Full Entry]

We woke at 5.30am feeling human. We had breakfast at the deli next to the hotel and then went to south port on the subway. There was work going on so we had to get off and catch a bus for the last bit. We got on the Staten Island ferry at 9.30 to look at the statue of liberty. You basically leave the terminal, the crossing takes half an hour, then disembark at the other end walk round and get back on. Fortunately it is free. When we got back to the Manhatten side the queue to get the ferry [View Full Entry]

The day before departure was manic. We finished packing the bags at about midnight and then went to bed at 1am. The alarm duly woke us at 4.30am. We threw stuff at it and went back to sleep and eventually relented and got up at 5. Checked in online, which meant we didn't have to queue. We can recomend Virgin Atlantic if you have kids. The girls were given a good quality bags, that have now replaced the ones they did have, full of stuff to do. I watched hot fuzz on the plane over and was in absolute histerics most [View Full Entry]
