Geo: 22.33, 114.18Well today was the final day, final day also for cramming more stuff into our already overloaded bags, we had until 12noon to be out of our room but Nikki decided that she still had things to buy, but most of the shops only opened at 11-11.30am which meant we were hanging around waiting. We had put our bags in the hotel storage so luckily we didn't have to drag the bags around. When the shops finally opened, the girls were happy with their bargains!!We collected our bags and caught the airport bus to Kowloon station where we could check our bags directly through Virgin Atlantic and check in, then we caught the airport express train straight to the airport. It was about 2.30pm and our flight wasn't until 7.10pm so the 3 girls ... read more

Geo: 22.3236, 114.173Today we have a little bit of a sleep in, like 8am, all got up and showered and could see it was going to be a beautiful day, sun was shining and there was only a little bit of smog. We set off for some shopping at about 10am, but a lot of the shops only open at 11am or 12noon as they stay open till midnight or just before. We decided to catch the underground to central on Hong Kong Island and with about 12 different exits, we took pot luck to where we would end up. We landed in an area which was Louis Voitton and Chanel, and all the expensive shops so we weren't really interested in staying around. We saw a sign for the Peak Tram and although we had ... read more

Geo: 22.33, 114.18After an 11.5 hour journey on Virgin Atlantic with tiny leg room, a numb bum and a little bit of sleep, we arrived at 5.15pm on Wednesday, we seemed to have lost the day from flying,so we bought some more train tickets and headed into Mong Kok. The train went to Kowloon then we were transferred to a bus for hotel shuttle. The crazy bus driver, omg... You wouldn't want a weak heart, he was crazy, dodging in and out, taxis, buses and people. But we made it to our hotel, the Royal Plaza, a luxury room with great views on the 16th floor and a Nespresso coffee machine!! With a quick change, we were out the door again, off to the shops!! Night markets once we found them, having to barter for some ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236We had the last of our English breakfasts, packed the final things in our suitcases and left the Stone Villa Guest Home in a taxi for the short 5 minute drive to the train station. Lorraine and Sheila were catching an earlier train to Liverpool then onto Carlisle and as we were about 2 hours before we were to leave, Clint sat with the bags and I took the girls for a walk on the Chester wall down to the River Dee, still the sun was shining but still cool. We walked back via the main streets into the Cathedral then to Gregg's bakery for some food for the train. The train arrived on time, very nice and very comfortable with a table for our 2 hour journey and we were headed to London Euston ... read more

Geo: 53.4108, -2.97748Well it looked like another sunny day ahead, we had planned to catch a train to Liverpool, so with a short walk to the Chester Train Station we bought our tickets for a 40 minute trip, and when we arrived, we grabbed a map and headed towards the Liverpool Eye, and towards the harbour. On the way there was so many huge beautiful old buildings, and with the sun shining, we just wanted to see everything. Down at the Liverpool eye, there was boats in the water , the Beatles yellow submarine , and the Joker's boat and a few others. We went into the Beatles shop, bought some souvenirs and walked a little further where we were going to see The Beatles Story until we found out the price to go in, we ... read more

Geo: 53.1997, -2.87541Well after a night of partying till late, again we were up early to have our English breakfast and also enjoyed being waited on, then we went walking again into the town. Lorraine's family were heading back to Barnsley so we decided that we would do our own thing so they could spend time together. We thought we would catch a taxi but after checking out how much it was going to cost,we decided to ask the bus driver how much the fare was,and today it was a special day for the Bus Company, it was their Birthday so all fares were £1 each so we were lucky, and we went out to Cheshire Oaks Outlet Centre for more shopping while Clint and Melanie went to the Marine Aquarium. We caught up for lunch ... read more

Geo: 53.1998, -2.87566We joined up together for breakfast where we we so warmly welcomed by the owners, we were waited on, felt like we had our own butler! We then set off leaving the 3 girls doing their own thing but they did head in to town first, while we walked to the stairs to start walking the wall that surrounds part of Chester. We started at the main clock and headed down towards the River Dee, and the hopped off there to have a walk around by the river, The sun was out, although you could still feel the cold air but it was just so perfect. We got a phone call from Lorraine's sister to say they had arrived in Chester so we then headed back to the clock bridge. We all met up and ... read more

Geo: 53.4807, -2.23451Had to get up early today as we had an 8.12am train to catch to Manchester, so we all had to jam the last few things in our suitcases and do the final part of cleaning before we had to carry all our bags down those 52 stairs! Poor Clint got that job!We had to walk luckily downhill all the way to the train station for about 10 minutes then find what platform our train left from. As we were a bit early, we grabbed some breakfast to take with us for the 3.5 hour journey. The countryside was very green and in parts there were still signs of all the rain they had with so much water lying everywhere. We passed many towns between Edinburgh and Manchester, with the hope we would see ... read more

Geo: 55.9503, -3.18761Today we decided to go for a visit to Holyrood Palace which is located on the bottom of the Royal Mile, so we set off downhill passing many amazing scenes along the way. We bought our tickets and entered the palace, unfortunately you cannot take photos inside, so could only take a few of the areas outside. The Palace was huge, lots of huge painting on the walls and alot of history,it's amazing to think this is where the Queen and her family come and stay when they are in Edinburgh. After leaving the building, we went and saw the ruins from a fire many years ago. Outside the sun was shining, and on the lawns within the Palace gardens, there were squirrels running around munching on the grass! We finished on our tour ... read more

Geo: 55.9503, -3.18761We had a little sleep in and had some breakfast then headed up to the Edinburgh Castle, passing many shops along the way, which we visited! One shop close to the Castle was a tartan/ weaving shop which was very interesting to see how tartan is made. This shop had a dress up area where they take your photos so keeping this in mind, we then headed to the Castle. We arrived about 12.15pm and we went to the cafe to have a cup of tea, scone with jam and clotted cream, because we had to try it! 1pm was the firing of the cannon so we waited, we all jumped with the noise!!We continued through the rooms and buildings then we headed downtown to do some shopping.
