Geo: 25.02, 121.45Today, we had time for a little "sleep in" we awoke at 7am, wishing I could have slept some more, Clint having his man cold made him snore so bad at night, if it wasn't snoring, it was coughing!! He went on and on, driving me nuts. We showered and had breakfast, and we're ready for our 9am collection by Singing and Sky who were picking us up to take us out for the day. We took the metro to Taipei Zoo, although we weren't going to the zoo, Sky took me in so I could buy some souvenirs and then we walked to the Gondolas, a short walk from the zoo. Next we lined up to buy tickets for the Maokong Gondola, and we decided we would get a Gondola with a clear ... read more

Geo: 25.02, 121.45We never seem to sleep in anywhere we go, we were up at 6am, showered and went for breakfast at 7.15. Today we are going on the High Speed Train to Taichung. We came here as we had a supplier to see, he messaged up last night saying he had a wedding to attend at lunchtime so if we could be there by 9.30am, there will be time.it takes 1hour by this train, stopping at about 5 stations along the way. We arrived on an earlier train, they run every few minutes. We were picked up and drove for another 40 minutes, nothing is closeby although they all say "it's close by!!"This factory was close by to the factory called Giant, an global bicycle company, well over 2000 employees. We arrived at our suppliers ... read more

Geo: 25.02, 121.45We were up at 5.30 this morning as again we had a plane to catch, this time we are hoping all is going to be ok. We left the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 6.45am in a taxi and hoped this driver wasn't a race car driver like yesterday. The start wasn't too bad but 5 minutes into the journey, he started honking his horn, many times for no reason, just honk, honk, a long honk, honk, honk!! No one even near us and honk! Today at the airport, there was a lot more people checking in, and this time, we got our tickets and proceeded through customs, worried we had too much carry on bags but nothing was said. A bit of duty free shopping, then away we went, finally to Taipei. The flight was ok, ... read more

Geo: 29.88, 121.55Today the alarm was set for 5.45am as we had a flight to catch to Taipei. No breakfast today, no time so we got packed, then got a taxi to the airport. Well this taxi driver thought he was in a racing car, we darted between cars, buses, we dragged with another taxi driver for most of the way, I was in the back seat and the front wheels of the car next to us was level when we were changing lanes, this was quite common right the whole way to the Airport in Ningbo. Then Clint said was this the right airport ??? How was I to know?? Well were at the right one, there is only one airport. Paid our fare 50 RMB ( about $10) cheap for a ride in a ... read more

Geo: 29.88, 121.55Once again, we were up at 6.30am, so much for being on holidays and relaxing, this just doesn't seem to happen to us, we had our breakfast delivered to our room, we cleaned up a bit and got ready, then headed down to the Ground floor to wait for someone to pick us up, today we are going to a Motorised Curtain Motor factory, which was about half an hour away from Ningbo, right on time we were collected by a driver who doesn't speak any English, so the journey to the factory was very quiet. We arrived finally to their almost brand new factory, unfortunately their lift was getting repaired, so 6 flights of stairs later, we got to the Meeting Room, and we were offered tea and coffee. We looked at lots ... read more

Geo: 29.88, 121.55This morning, we were catching the fast train to Ningbo, so once we did our final packing, we checked out of the hotel, then got a taxi to the Hongqiao railway station we seri at 7.30am, we thought we will have plenty of time, I lined up in the queue for the tickets, gave passports, then I thought I could pay by visa, NO. Clint had taken my cash and he was standing 30 metres away with all our bags, so out of the line I got, grabbed his wallet, then I had to rejoin an even longer line again. Getting frustrated in waiting, a man in front of me started talking, he was from Boston, so we just spoke about transportation etc until he got his ticket, even offering to help me with ... read more

Geo: 31.23, 121.47This morning we had breakfast at McDonald's as we were catching a train soon than will take 1 hour to get there, so we had a quick bite then we were off to the subway. Found the correct train, bought our tickets at 12 RMB about $2.40 AUD then down to the train. The train already was absolutely packed already, squeezing room only, although I was hoping for a seat, I had no chance of this until about half way!! Train is the simplest way for everyone to get around, very convenient. We spent the day with some friends, lunch was at a very nice restaurant and then they took us shopping too, on a mission to find these copy Nike shoes for Nikki, even 60 miles away from Shanghai, they are still dear. ... read more

Geo: 31.23, 121.47Today was our disembarking day, so we needed to be up ultra early to do our final packing, then once again we needed to eat!!!! This eating thing is starting to be a joke, but it's our final meal on our cruise. Today we needed to find some of the people we had met on the cruise, to say our goodbyes!! As we were walking into the dining room, we saw Yoke (pronounced Yok) and Jeff, so we chose our breakfast then all sat together. They gave us good info in some places to visit, and being used to travelling on the train systems now, we will find it easy to get around. We finished breakfast, took some photos the said our goodbyes then went on the search for other people. There already was ... read more

Geo: 26.3561, 119.82Today is our final full day at sea, from Xiamen to Shanghai, it is only 250 Nautical miles so it feels like we are not going as fast as before. The weather has really changed, quite cold here and we have rain now, foggy too or might be a sea mist. Time for breakfast again, today we sat with a couple from Scotland, always interesting to chat with people from different countries. Activities today include bingo and this is our first time at bingo on the ship so once rules were explained, the game went on. We were marking off numbers and was getting close to having 2 numbers left on our card, when you get 1 number left, you have to sand up, so it was starting to get exciting. Someone started to ... read more

Geo: 24.45, 118.08Today we as per usual, got up and pampered ourselves then headed to get breakfast once again, catching up with people we've met along the way. Quite a few people were going on the same tour as ours so there was lots of buses heading out. Today we are doing The Essence of Xiamem, which takes us to a temple, a beach Buddah ( and I don't mean us on the beach!!) then to a pedestrian shopping mall. Our first stop was at the Temple and the first thing we had to do was to actually cross the road, well that was fun!!! We managed to not be run down by pushbikes, motorbikes, cars, taxis, buses and trucks!! And I forgot all the pedestrians that just barge through anyway!Once we got to the Temple ... read more
